“If they’ve tried to order (non-alcoholic beers) at a restaurant or something, it’s because of a very specific bond with you. Because first of all they are educated about addiction and what substances are and how they affect your body and how scary they are and what they can do to you,” she said, referring to her husband’s past struggles with addiction.

Shepard launched the Armchair Expert podcast in February 2018 and co-hosts the weekly podcast with his co-creator, the actress and producer Monica Padman.

During the August 14 episode, Shepard also insisted that he would not change his ways based on the criticism.

“If anyone has a problem with me letting my kids drink NA beer sometimes, that’s fine with me. I’m not going to change based on what anyone else says because this is our family and not your business,” Shepard stated.

In July, Kristen admitted that she lets her daughters drink non-alcoholic beer.

The blonde beauty – who has been married to Dax since 2013 – said on The Kelly Clarkson Show: “We’ve been to restaurants where she’s said, ‘Do you have non-alcoholic beer?’ And I’m like, maybe we’ll just keep that for the home.

The former Veronica Mars star also explained how her husband would often drink a bottle of non-alcoholic beer while taking care of Lincoln, their eldest daughter, when she was a baby.

“(Dax is) a recovering addict, but he likes non-alcoholic beer, so he’d pop one open, he’d have (Lincoln) on his chest, and we’d walk and watch the sunset,” Bell recalled.

“As a baby she would claw at it and sometimes suck the edge of it. So I think it feels like something special to her, something Dad, something family.”

Bell and Shepard’s defense over their parenting style comes a few weeks after the couple claimed they, along with their daughters and a group of close friends, were “thrown out” of Boston’s Logan International Airport.
