He’s a board-certified acute and chronic pain physician who lives in Germantown, Maryland, and has detailed how to make those love bites go away
He recently detailed how to use ice packs and a hot compress to get rid of love bites, though he admitted never having had any “experience” with hickeys.
He captioned the viral video, which has garnered more than 2.1 million views to date, “In case anyone needs this.”
The doctor dueted a clip of two girls trying to remove a hickey by rubbing their necks with a whisk.
He said, “If you ever find yourself in a situation where you need to get rid of a hickey, here’s what you need to know.
“For the first 24 hours, you’ll want to apply something cold, like an ice pack or a cold spoon.”
“The reason is that the blood vessels have broken and are leaking blood, so you want to vasoconstrict or tighten them to prevent further leakage.”
Dr. Sood then noted that if you’re still bruised after 24 hours, you should switch to applying a warm compress.
“At this point, the blood vessels have leaked all the blood they’re about to leak.
“Now, if you want all that blood to go away from the spot, you want to apply something warm,” he explained.
People flooded the comments praising him for his tips, with many even saying his advice worked
At the end of the clip, he asked his followers to let him know if his tips worked, as he has “no experience with hickeys whatsoever.”
