Baldur’s Gate 3 first patch targets 1,000 fixes, fan requests coming after

Larian Studios has two patches in the works Baldur’s Gate 3 – the first targeting over 1,000 bug fixes and tweaks to the Dungeons & Dragons based role-playing game and feel-good hit of the summer. The second will go beyond just squashing bugs and start incorporating some of the most requested features from players.

That’s according to a tweet (or post on X, if you must) from Larian founder and CEO Swen Vincke, who offered an informal and undated roadmap for updates to the game.

β€œWe are all very excited about your feedback,” said Vincke. β€œIt’s very rewarding. Our focus right now is on resolving any issues you report, but we’re listening to suggestions. Current roadmap: a) Hotfix 4, b) Patch 1 (+1000 fixes and tweaks), c) Patch 2. The latter will already contain some requests.”

Which requests? Well, one of them is almost certainly the ability to customize your characters’ appearance midway through a play-through. Responding to a fan begging for the feature on TwitterMichael Douse, Larian’s publishing director, suggested it was in development, saying, “We’re cooking.” Currently, it’s only possible to change the player character’s appearance during the character creation process, so if you don’t fall in love with that hairstyle again, you’re out of luck.

Larian is quite quick to penetrate bugs Baldur’s Gate 3, despite the size and complexity of the game. The three hotfixes released so far have addressed a variety of issues, from bugs that could cause crashes or block progression, to unwanted clipping of the penis.

Larian has confirmed that, as you would expect, all current and future improvements and fixes will be reflected in the PlayStation 5 version of the game, which will be released alongside the exclusive Xbox console Star field on September 6. With any luck, at least the first of these patches will be out by then. It looks like Xbox owners will have to wait until 2024 to play Baldur’s Gate 3However.
