The Matildas: Women’s World Cup TV presenter Mel McLaughlin left furious after an old ‘friend’ begs her for tickets to the Australia v England semi-final – and they haven’t spoken for EIGHT YEARS
Mel McLaughlin was furious this week after an old ‘friend’ tried to schmooze her for tickets to watch the Matildas play against England in the Women’s World Cup semi-final.
The 43-year-old sports presenter, who receives special access to the Women’s World Cup for her job, revealed that someone she hadn’t spoken to in eight years begged her for tickets.
Outraged by the old acquaintance’s bile, she told Nova FM’s Fitzy & Wippa with Kate Ritchie on Wednesday morning that she couldn’t be bothered to answer.
Co-presenter Ryan ‘Fitzy’ Fitzgerald opened up by asking the Seven Network presenter: ‘How many people are texting you for tickets Mel?’
‘You know what? I’m just not even answering,” Mel said, annoyed by the messages people have bombarded her with.

“The best one was, ‘Hey, Mel, do you have a swing with tickets?’ I feel like I haven’t heard from you in literally 8 years. That’s a record,” she added.
Fitzy joked, “Sorry, Mel, that was just a whim I sent that.”
