Plane passenger sparks outrage after being pictured with his bare foot on armrest of seat in front of him during three-hour flight

A man pictured with his bare foot resting on the arm of a seat aboard an airplane has sparked outrage among Redditors.

“Do you say anything when you sit there?” said the social media user, who posted the photo to the I’m The Main Character subreddit – the Reddit forum dedicated to shaming those who engage in self-centered behavior.

They added, “This was a 3-hour flight and he kept those puppies awake the entire time.”

Many people on the wire agreed that it was hugely inappropriate behavior on the passenger’s part – with a top-voted commenter proclaiming that the sight made them ‘never want to travel again’.

Others suggested how to deal with the violation of etiquette.

One person joked, “Ask if he wants a foot massage.”

“Find out if they’re ticklish,” someone else suggested.

“I accidentally spill my sugar-laden drink on someone’s foot when I sit there,” fantasized a third.

As one advocate of an eye-for-an-eye revenge suggested, “I wouldn’t say anything. I would just take off my shoes and socks, turn to the side and put my feet up too. On his armrest. However, one commenter seemed to have more insight into the context surrounding the image, which depicts the man behind a blonde woman holding a toddler.

While commentators agreed on their views on the man’s misconduct more broadly, they differed on how specifically they would address the behavior at the time.

‘Actually, his wife and child are ahead of him. They couldn’t get the adjacent seat. This has been posted before,” they claimed.

This isn’t the first time airline passengers have sparked anger by shoving their uncovered feet into nooks and crannies around their seats — and into other people’s personal space.

In January 2020, a teenage boy posted a disgruntled selfie showing the passenger in the window seat directly behind him pushing his foot all the way to the child’s own window.
