Brittany Cartwright revealed that she was not paid for most of season four of Vanderpump Rules, which was her debut season.

The 34-year-old reality star, who is married to fellow Vanderpump Rules alum Jax Taylor, said on their joint When Reality Hits podcast that she was “broke” for that first year of doing reality TV.

“I didn’t get paid my first season of Vanderpump Rules until the very last minute. I was broke,” said Brittany, who is from Kentucky.

Add: “It took a lot out of me.”

Brittany was on the show from 2015 to 2020.

Jax, 44, was on the show from 2013 to 2020.

Brittany and Jax had a long distance romance during the beginning of their relationship – and she made the decision to move to Los Angeles – for financial reasons.

‘It cost her money. This was the beginning of the show and it cost her $800 to $900,” Jax said on the podcast.

“She was in Kentucky (worked at a bar and Hooters) and $800 is a lot of money (to spend on plane tickets),” he added.

“It was about three months into[their relationship],” Brittany explained.

“Because I had to work, I went back and forth to see you. I was at work for a week and then would see you the following week. It was like two months,’ she said.

Brittany and Jax met in 2015 and got engaged on June 7, 2018 in Malibu, California.

The couple exchanged their I Dos on June 29, 2019 in Kentucky.

The reality stars welcomed their first child, a son named Cruz Michael Cauchi on April 12, 2021.

At the end of July, their Vanderpump Rules co-star Kristen Doute revealed how much she got paid on Vanderpump Rules.

Kristen starred in the Bravo reality show from 2013 to 2020 and also appeared in 2023.

“We had very little in our bank account. It was $5,000 and if we became a primary we got another $5,000,” via Page six.
