Married At First Sight star Dean Wells has announced his engagement to Beauty and The Geek’s Aimee Woolley after a year of dating.

Dean, 45, and Aimee, 24, shared their happy news on Monday, releasing unusual engagement photos of the couple getting engaged in front of two camels in the desert.

Speak against Yahoo! Lifestyle On Monday, the controversial groom said he’s finally ready to tie the knot again after his disastrous stint on reality TV.

“MAFS is different for everyone, but for me it was a total bonding and left me with a bitter taste about marriage. I was a little scarred by the experience, but when I met Aimee, she renewed my faith in real, honest, true love,” Dean explained.

She is the sweetest, funniest, craziest and most genuine person I’ve ever met. We dove in first and moved in together after only a few weeks and the next natural step was to propose.”

Tasmanian-born Aimee admitted that she was always attracted to ‘bad boys’, so Dean was the perfect man for her.

The couple also explained that the camel-themed engagement photos were a cheeky nod to one of their fondest memories: riding a camel together around Sydney’s Manly Corso.

Dean and Aimee first sparked rumors that they were dating back in August last year when they hugged and kissed at a restaurant.

Dean edited the original flyer with an unrelated image from Charisma’s Instagram feed showing the performer vulgarly spreading her legs with a taco in her crotch.

He accompanied this with a caption condemning the event and labeling drag performances as “inherently sexual” – sparking outrage among critics.

In a statement to Daily Mail Australia, Dean reiterated his belief that drag performances are inappropriate for young children and should not be paid for by the government.

Meanwhile, Aimee competed in Beauty And The Geek in 2022, alongside “nerd” and martial arts expert Jayden, 24.
