Fury As Young Kids Are Showered With TAMPONS Thrown By ‘Bloodied’ ‘Non-Binary’ Performer During Drag Queen Show At LGBT Pride Family Event

Kids were overloaded with tampons by a non-binary “alien” who smeared “blood” on themselves after pretending to menstruate on stage at a city-sponsored Pride festival.

Girls, some of whom appeared to be as young as five years old, were sprayed with the sanitary products after being hurled by the performer.

Footage from the Pride event, held in Chapelfield Gardens, Norwich, showed a child hurriedly running away as tampons were thrown off the platform.

The performance, on July 29 at around 2 p.m., was introduced by Compare Alexa Darling, a drag queen known as the ‘Broadway Diva Of Norwich’.

There had been a warning about the content and a statement: “Our next act is going to be one that’s very political.

“So activate a period alert, if there’s some gruesome things you don’t like to see, blood or anything like that, maybe take the time to go get a drink.”

Darling insisted, “Put your hands together for the intergalactic alien about to take over our stage, of course it’s Mx Slaybia!”

The act then took the stage in the red alien outfit and sang a version of No Doubt’s Just A Girl.

Then, the performer appeared to menstruate through a pair of white pants before smearing the “blood” around their clothing.

Mx Slaybia then reached into a clear plastic bag and threw packaged tampons into the watching crowd.

Moments later, the performer – whose title suggests they are non-binary – holds up a sign that says “Moonblood has no gender.”

The board is then inverted to display the message ‘We will bleed on your period, capitalism’.

Mx Slaybia then blew a kiss to the audience before leaving the stage after compere thanked Alexa for performing.

Footage of the act was circulated online and sparked criticism for its graphic nature and audience appropriateness.

Maya Forstater, founder of campaign group Sex Matter, said the performance was completely inappropriate.

She told MailOnline: ‘Puberty is scary enough for kids without someone standing in front of them and turning it into a glittering horror show.

“It’s completely inappropriate at a family celebration like this. It’s almost as if people are constantly trying to push the boundaries of what is acceptable and appropriate.

“I think this is something bizarre and scary that shouldn’t be placed in front of children.

‘The municipality does have a responsibility for what can be seen in public. If they supported it before the event, that council support gets people thinking about attending an expectation of standards and safety.”

Norwich Council – which had proudly announced its support for the festival – then mysteriously removed any trace of its support from its site.

It did not respond to a series of questions from MailOnline about the act or what was the “menstrual blood” used in the performance.

Mx Slaybia – who gave their Instagram address at the end of the performance – was found to have deleted their account after the performance.

But Darling vehemently supported Slaybia, posting on Instagram: “Seeing what happened to not only one of my best friends but a fellow queer person as a result of an incredible, important and necessary discussion about menstrual health and menstrual poverty , including around transgender people. rights is more than disturbing.

“It feels superfluous at this point to say how angry I am, especially at the audience I’m reaching, but I’m furious.

‘Why does this keep happening? How does this keep happening? What goes through these people’s heads that make them think attacking someone is okay? Why do they think spouting mean rhetoric is okay?

“They insist that we are still proud and how disgusting they think it is when the irony is that they are the reason.

“The vicious TERFs and the far right who keep vilifying us for fighting for justice, who keep killing, is because they are too narrow-minded to realize the world doesn’t revolve around them, and their narrow view of the world is the reason.

“All I have to tell them is that we are not going anywhere, no matter what you do, you will never silence our voices. If you are able, please report any videos you see of this, now is the time for us to come together as a community and help each other.”

Norwich Pride trustees also defended the artist – although they said they would welcome feedback on the line-up.

A spokesman said: ‘We are aware of a negative story being shared on social media regarding a performance at Norwich Pride on Saturday 29th July 2023.

“We will always strive to strike a balance between an unapologetically queer and open space for our artists and creating a show that can be viewed and enjoyed by people of all ages. We are grateful to everyone who performed over the weekend for being their authentic, talented selves. Norwich Pride condemns the harassment of artists on or after our event.

“As always, we welcome any feedback from people who have attended the event in good faith and will take it on board as we make future programming decisions. If you attended Norwich Pride 2023 and have any feedback for us, please complete our annual survey which can be found on the home page of our website.”
