Julianne Moore and Ellen Barkin show off their summer style as they meet for lunch in NYC

Julianne Moore got a warm and sunny start to her weekend by spending part of her afternoon with old bestie Ellen Barkin.

On Friday, the two acclaimed actresses seemed to be beaming with joy when they met for lunch at a cozy restaurant in New York City’s West Village neighborhood.

The ladies, who have been best friends for many years, were seen cuddling and chatting as they arrived for their lunch date, and again as they said goodbye just outside the establishment.

The girlfriends looked like they had pre-coordinated their outfits and both opted for a casual-cool style in the fashion department.

Moore, 62, paired loose-fitting white jeans with a black blazer over a black top, while Barkin, 69, also went with white trousers with a loose-fit design, only deciding to go with a matching top to round out her summer . ready look.

The Still Alice star’s white jeans were cut a few inches above her ankles in a high tide design.

In keeping with her summer look, she also wore a pair of black sandals, worn without socks, and a white baseball cap over her long red locks.

Despite wearing the hat, her locks still fell over her ears, all the way down her front chest and down the middle of her back.

The Fort Bragg, North Carolina resident wore cool dark sunglasses, which not only protected her from the blazing sun, but also gave her some anonymity when paired with the cap.

Barkin’s baggy white pants were the perfect choice as temperatures have hovered between the 80s and 90s over the past few days.

Her matching button-down shirt perfectly complemented her baggy trousers, which matched with a pair of white loafers.

To round off her overall look, the Switch actress wore a stylish fedora hat over her blonde locks pulled back in a ponytail.

After sitting down to eat a light lunch and catch up, the old best friends walked out of the restaurant together, chatted for a while, then hugged each other with a goodbye hug.

The actresses haven’t been close friends for decades, they’ve also worked together, including starring in the film Trust The Man (2005), which was written and directed by Moore’s husband Bart Freundlich.

The couple will soon mark a milestone in their marriage as they celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary on August 23.

Most recently, the Academy Award-winning actress just wrapped up shooting for the upcoming June thriller film Echo Valley, which also stars Sydney Sweeney and Domhnall Gleeson.

As for Barkin, her latest role is in the action comedy The Out-Laws, which also stars Adam DeVine, Pierce Brosnan, and Nina Dobrev in the main cast.

The New York City native also appeared this year in an episode of the crime drama series Poker Face, starring Natasha Lyonne.
