Ron DeSantis shrugs off attacks from Trump, Joe and Kamala, saying it means they see him as a THREAT as he, Casey and the kids storm Iowa to try and raise its falling polls

Ron DeSantis on Wednesday shrugged off the attacks he receives from Donald Trump, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, saying it simply means they see him as a “threat.”

“I think it just shows I’m the guy I’m being attacked by the left, the Democrats, Biden, Harris, the media, Trump, so I have to be someone they see as a threat,” he told NewsNation as he and his family stormed through Iowa.

Florida’s governor is going all-in on Hawkeye state, promising to visit all 99 counties ahead of the January primary, hoping a victory there can give his presidential campaign a huge boost.

But so far he has seen no traction in the polls. In fact, he is nine points behind in a poll of Iowa Republicans conducted by GOP polling firm JL Partners for DailyMail.com.

And Trump leads by 27 points in the RealClearPolitics Poll Average of Iowa voters.

DeSantis says the support will come.

“Winning a majority of the delegates is what we are going to do. I think we’re ahead of where we thought we would be so far in terms of what we’ve been able to accomplish in Iowa,” DeSantis told reporters traveling with him on his campaign bus through eastern Iowa on Thursday.

He, Casey and their children Madison, Mamie and Mason are on the first day of a two-day bus tour of the state that will conclude with a visit to the Iowa State Fair on Saturday – a mandatory stop for any presidential candidate.

Trump will also be in the state on Saturday, holding his own separate event when DeSantis and other contenders for the GOP presidential nomination speak at the fair’s soapbox and attend a fireside chat with Iowa Republican Governor Kim Reynolds.

It was unclear whether Trump would attend the annual event, which runs from August 10 through August 20.

The state fair is a major venue for political candidates courting voters ahead of the January primary.

The former president plans to bring a posse of Florida lawmakers who endorsed his presidential bid for DeSantis. Vice President Harris has also attacked DeSantis, who has repeatedly criticized Floridas new education policy enables students to learn that slavery gave Black people “skills” that could be used “for their personal benefit.”

In an interview with Newsmax on Wednesday, Trump called DeSantis a “failed candidate.”

“He has no personality and there’s nothing wrong with it,” Trump noted.

“He fell like a brick. I don’t even think he will stay number 2 for long,” he added.

DeSantis argued, “If they’re attacking you, it means you’re above the target.” We’re glad we can handle that and we’ll stand our ground.

‘Cause at the end of the day, I’m running to actually win the presidency and do all these great things. I have no other motivation. I don’t want to get a cable news deal. I’m not trying to sell anything. I don’t want a cabinet post,” he told NewsNation.

He also said Trump should not skip traditional Iowa events and the sitdown with Reynolds.

“I’ll be there with Governor Kim Reynolds. Donald Trump has attacked Governor Kim Reynolds. She’s done a great job here,” he said.

“I don’t think it’s right for the party to attack people like Kim Reynolds, so we’re going to have the honest talk with her. Trump doesn’t talk to Kim Reynolds, even if he has the chance to do so.”

Reynolds has not endorsed the presidential race, but has repeatedly praised DeSantis – a move that has enraged Trump.

On Wednesday, she praised Florida’s governor for visiting all the counties in the state — a move she called the “full Grassley.” Longtime Republican Senator from Iowa, Chuck Grassley, is known for visiting all 99 counties in his state each year.

“He shows up in rural Iowa. He talks to voters. He listens to the voters. He’s talking about his vision and it’s a really good thing to do,” Reynolds told DeSantis’ Fox News.

DeSantis has visited about 30 of the 99 counties with five months left until the primary.
