Shopper disgusted by ‘wild’ trash-laden beauty section at Kmart: ‘What happened here, a war?’
- Customer shocked by the state of Kmart’s beauty aisle
- The video shows the shelves littered with rubbish, dirty labels and opened bottles
- But other shoppers say their local Kmart is “always clean.”
A customer has criticized Kmart for the filthy state of the beauty section at her local store.
While browsing, the woman noticed that the shelves were “disgusting” and filled with junk rather than neatly packed with beauty products.
The shelves were littered with marks, popular purchases looked dirty, and some products had been opened.
Addie shared two videos on TikTok showing the poor condition of the shelves, leaving thousands of customers stunned.
She did not disclose where the Kmart store was located.
A customer was shocked by the filthy state of the beauty section at her local Kmart. In one video, there was an unfinished drink in a plastic cup, dirty labels, and damaged packaging
Elsewhere in the video, there was an unfinished drink in a plastic cup with a straw on the shelf, dirty labels, damaged packaging, and what looked like shaving cream sprayed on the shelf.
In the second video – which has been viewed nearly a million times – a bottle of Palmolive Kids soap was covered in an unknown brown substance.
Others seemed shocked by the videos, and many voiced their concerns in the comments.
However, many were also surprised by the state of the beauty aisle, saying their store is “always clean.”
Elsewhere in the clip, she showed off what appears to be shaving cream on the shelf
“What happened there, a whole war?” one remarked, another said, “Mine is cleaner than clean.”
“Yeah, mine doesn’t look like that,” said a third.
A Kmart employee then joined the conversation and shared his thoughts.
“I work at Kmart, I’ve cleaned it so many times and customers do,” he wrote.
A spokesperson for Kmart Australia told FEMAIL that the brand welcomes customer feedback to ensure the stores are up to par.
“At Kmart, we want everyone to have an enjoyable shopping experience every time they visit us in store,” the spokesperson said.
“We’ve done a lot of work to merchandize our beauty store across all of our stores, including updating the packaging of many of our products to avoid clutter.
“Our store teams work very hard to ensure that our product areas are presented in a coordinated and tidy manner.
It appears that the TikTok video posted in May of this year is an exception to our beauty salon standards and we always welcome all customer feedback to ensure our stores look their best and our customers have a have a great shopping experience.’
