Jeremy Clarkson has punched a shoplifter who was caught brazenly stealing from his farm shop in Diddly Squat.
The former Top Gear presenter, who opened the Cotswolds shop in 2020, shared CCTV footage of the thief in the shop yesterday, telling his fans ‘this man came ‘shopping’ at the farm shop’, adding that he ‘would like to meet the cu.’
The video shows a bearded man, wearing a black long-sleeved top, black gilet and black cap, casually grabbing a bottle of alcohol from the top shelf before putting it in his jacket pocket.
He then slips another item from a nearby basket into his coat before sauntering back through the store, pretending to be interested in the other products, while another man stands at the register.
According to police, the two men arrived and left in the same car. While one man went to the counter and bought £69 worth of goods, the other capped man stole two bottles of alcohol and another unknown item worth around £80.

Clarkson, who has been running the farm shop since 2020, told his fans “this guy came to shop” at the farm shop, adding that he would like to “get to know the cu”
It is unclear when the footage was recorded and whether the police were contacted
The men entered the well-known farm at around 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon. After taking the goods, they left the shop, jumped into a vehicle and drove off towards Burford, West Oxfordshire.
Police say they are investigating the case following a report of shoplifting.
Clarkson fans responded quickly to the message. One of them said, “Where’s security when you need them?”
A second quipped, “If you steal from someone who has 6.7 million followers and get caught on camera.”
While a third added: “People actually think cameras don’t exist.”
A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police told MailOnline: ‘We received a report of shoplifting at Diddly Squat Farm Shop in Chipping Norton Road, Chadlington at around 4.15pm yesterday (8/8).
“Two men entered the store after arriving in the same vehicle. One went to the till and bought £69 worth of goods, while the other stole two bottles of alcohol and another unknown item, worth around £80.
“Both men then left the store, got back into the vehicle and drove off in the direction of Burford.”
Officers have urged anyone with information to call 911 or file a report on the website, citing the reference number 43230353268.

Last month, Clarkson had another problem on his Oxfordshire site – the subject of the presenter’s hit TV show Clarkson’s Farm – and had to issue a panicked warning to customers who might have bought exploding bottles of cider.
He raised the urgent alarm after a ‘massive cock up’ with their Hawkstone ciders.
The 63-year-old tweeted in panic: “F*** F*** F*** F*** F*** F***. There has been a huge bang and as a result there is very little chance that some of our Hawkstone CIDER bottles will, there is no easy way to put it, explode.”

A customer responded to Clarkson’s tweet with a photo of the cider bottle, with the L3160 code, tweeting, “Like this?” I had one last night and it was great, looking forward to this one tonight.’
The host of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire responded, “Open it while wearing a Hurt Locker suit.”
Another joked, “The cider is delicious, taste the apple, I’m not put off by a little explosive cider.”
The presenter responded: ‘Most of the cider you drink is made from concentrate. Ours is made with real apples.’
Clarkson and the Costwold Brew Co launched the range of drinks in 2021.
Diddly Squat Farm’s social media page said the bottles exploded due to “over-fermentation.”
It added: ‘If you have any of this batch it’s important to dispose of it under the tap water now and be careful as these are in glass bottles – please take a picture of the caps and we’ll send you a new batch or a refund… whatever you choose…if you’ve already drunk the cider don’t worry – apologies from all of us…’.

The exploding cider came weeks after Clarkson won his battle with West Oxfordshire District Council to provide more parking spaces at his Diddly Squat farm.
The TV star had been in a bitter row with the council for more than a year after it refused to give him permission to expand the store’s parking facilities.
Lack of parking space for visitors resulted in long queues of cars being left on the side of country roads, damaging boggy hills and land.
It sparked outrage among some local residents in the leafy village of Chadlington.
But in the end, the city council gave way in June to the extension and the change of use of the land.
However, proposals to add a restaurant to the popular site were rejected.
