A 25-year-old man has died after falling off the Manhattan Bridge after running off a small fender bender with an Uber in the early hours of Tuesday.

The man, who has not yet been identified, was involved in a two-car accident just before 2 a.m. on Tuesday morning.

Police said he then ran on foot from the bridge’s incoming lower level, where he attempted to climb onto the bridge to get away.

Authorities say he then fell to his death in the street below, while officers are now investigating why he ran from the crash in the first place.

A pedestrian then found the man downstairs on Henry and Forsyth Streets in Manhattan’s Lower East Side.

He was then taken to New York Presbyterian Lower Manhattan Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

In video footage posted by LLN shortly after the incident, police officers can be seen expecting a black vehicle parked on the bridge.
