Joe Rogan says Tucker Carlson could succeed Donald Trump as president in 2018 if former Fox News host decides to run

Controversial podcaster Joe Rogan has predicted that former Fox News host Tucker Carlson would be hard to beat if Firebrand host decides to run for US president in 2028.

Speaking to commentator Patrick Bet-David, he claimed that if Donald Trump wins the presidency next year, Carlson, 54, has the experience and appeal to succeed him in the White House.

“If Tucker ran in 2028, he could win, because it would kind of carry that policy,” he said.

“But he’s also kind of a no-nonsense guy who exposes b********, you know, in a pretty humorous way and in a very insightful and caustic way,” he added.

The podcaster of the latest edition of the Joe Rogan Experience added to growing speculation that the conservative firefighter could see his popularity tested.

Speculation about Tucker Carlson’s presidential ambitions has mounted since the right-wing commentator was suspended by Fox News in April

“And he has a very popular voice, too,” Rogan said.

“Like he decides to run for president — let’s just make a screenplay. Trump wins in 2024. He has four years. If Tucker started running in 2028, he could win.”

Carlson began his TV career at CNN and helped launch the conservative Daily Caller website in 2011.

But it was at Fox News that he became a darling of the right, helping Donald Trump to the White House and becoming one of the former president’s favorite interviewers in a series of high-profile encounters.

“I personally love Trump,” Carlson said last month.

“I think we’re coming to see Trump’s rise as the most important thing American politics has seen in 100 years because he reoriented the Republican Party against the wishes of Republican leaders.”

Carlson has also been pictured spending time with Trump in social settings in recent months.

But speculation about Carlson’s own political ambitions has skyrocketed since he was fired by Fox News in the wake of the $787 million settlement with Dominion Voting Systems over vote fraud allegations in April.

Within days, Carlson said he was enjoying his newfound freedom, telling DailyMail.com, “I haven’t had dinner with my wife on a weeknight in seven years.”

He’s taken his show to Twitter, where he has 10 million followers and broadcasts from a studio in his home in Woodstock, Maine.

But he is also reportedly raising money to start his own media empire after losing his $20 million annual salary in the wake of his departure from Fox.

Married to wife Susan for more than 30 years, the native Californian had a privileged but unconventional childhood, with a journalist father who would take him to murder scenes, according to a new biography.

Recently, Carlson teased a reporter who asked him if he was looking for the White House and told him, “Yes. Friday announcement in New Hampshire.”

The anchor was responding to a text message in May from Insider journalist Mattathias Schwartz about his presidential ambitions.

Carlson then admitted that he was “completely joking,” adding: ‘I can never control myself.

‘I’m fundamentally ad**k. My apologies.’

While on the air, Carlson dismissed claims that the January 6 attack on the Capitol was an insurgency and outwardly loyal to former President Donald Trump.

But the Dominion lawsuit uncovered a trove of clumsy internal emails and text messages, including messages in which Carlson revealed he “passionately” hated Donald Trump and complained about senior executives, who reportedly branded one of them a ***.

Rogan told his audience that Carlson “put a lot of lefties in the red,” discussing the anchor’s prospects with his guest.

“Do you get the sense from Tucker that Tucker wants to be a Netanyahu, a Churchill, a guy who is, you know, a journalist who argues that everyone has read every issue for the past 20, 30 years,” Bet-David asked him.

“Do you think he might want to make a run for 2028?”

“Well, what he’s doing is very profitable, isn’t it?” suggested Rogan.

“Like, what he does makes a huge amount of money by talking about things from his perspective.

“I think he will continue to do that. Or he decides to become a politician, I don’t know if he has any ambitions.’
