Engagement rumors swirl as Princess Mary’s son Prince Christian introduces his beautiful new royal girlfriend to Queen Margrethe
Crown Princess Mary’s eldest son Prince Christian has sparked engagement rumors after introducing his ‘girlfriend’ Princess Maria Chiara di Borbone-Two Sicilies to his grandmother, Queen Margrethe.
The 17-year-old is said to have received the 18-year-old princess in Denmark in June and made the bold decision to introduce her to the Queen.
Royal insiders said ‘they all had tea together’ and noted that Chiara was extremely nervous before the meeting.
“It’s an informal stamp of approval for Chiara because Margrethe doesn’t have tea with just anyone,” the source told Women’s Day.

This is reported by a Danish source Women’s Day: Christian is only four months away from his 18th birthday and he’s interested in a real girlfriend, mainly to ward off wannabe fans, but he also likes the idea of having a real life companion.
Chiara ticks all the boxes – she’s funny, intelligent and very well connected through her social media. Mary, of course, would love to see him date someone like Chiara, who, despite appearing to live a jet-set lifestyle, has never had a hint of scandal, and neither has her older sister Carolina.’
The source also seemed certain that the two are dating.
‘Christian is certainly taken with Chiara – it remains to be seen if she feels the same way. For the time being they get along well, both families agree and they have much the same taste in music, sports and even film.’
Fans will likely be watching closely for any more footage of the two teens together.

It was reported late last month that Princess Mary’s cousin, Count Nikolai of Denmark, is moving to Australia to attend university, months after his grandmother stripped him of his HRH royal title.
Handsome model Nikolai, 23, is going to study for a semester at UTS in Sydney, accompanied by his glamorous design girlfriend Benedicht Thoustrup.
The couple lives together in Copenhagen and will move to Sydney from August 1 to November 30 to study.
Nikolai, whose father is Prince Joachim of Denmark, is seventh in line to the Danish throne.
In March, Count Nikolai of Denmark launched a new Instagram account to promote his modeling career after being stripped of his ‘HRH’ status by his grandmother, Queen Margrethe.
It has been a tumultuous year for the Danish royal family after the monarch controversially usurped the title from Prince Joachim’s eldest son, as well as the titles of Prince and Princess from his younger children Athena, 11, Prince Felix, 20, and Prince Henrik. 13.

They are now count and countess and are referred to as their excellencies – and in January this year, the Danish royal family updated their website to show the new status.
The Queen stressed that the move “will be good for them in their future” and will allow the children – who have retained their position in the line of succession – to “shape their own lives without being constrained by the special considerations and duties’ which implies a formal affiliation with the Danish royal family.
The news of the royal family’s arrival in Australia was confirmed to the Danish publication BT by press advisor Helle von Wildenrath Løvgreen.
BT reports that the pair are currently looking for an apartment in Sydney to live in and both have studied at Copenhagen Business School and in Paris on exchange.
