Mark Cuban does most of his own laundry, cooks and drives over ‘privacy’ concerns: ‘I just try to be the same person I was when I was poor’
Shark Tank producer star Mark Cuban boasts eye-popping A fortune of $5.1 billion – but he still does most of his driving, washing and cooking due to “privacy” concerns.
This surprised Bobbi Althoff, host of The Really Good Podcast, who couldn’t believe the Pittsburgh-born 65-year-old didn’t employ a butler.
“I’m just trying to be the same person I mean when I was poor” explained Mark – whose early jobs included disco dance instructor, bartender and party promoter.
“When I was broke, I had a blast. I mean, I loved my life and so, you know, I could wake up smiling. Back then you just shouldn’t pick up the phone because it would be a collection agency. But at least you’re having fun!’
Cuban said he doesn’t hire drivers because he likes to drive himself: “I like the privacy. You know, I’ve been around people who hire someone to do everything for them and that’s just not privacy. It’s hard enough having privacy…as it is.”
