Crystal Palace are looking to sign Southampton striker Che Adams as the Eagles look to strengthen their attack line ahead of the new season, according to reports.

Adams came off the bench to score the winner for the Saints in their 2-1 victory over Sheffield Wednesday on Friday night and could now line up for a top flight.

According to the The sunThe Scotland international would be allowed to leave St Mary’s for the right price, and is also sparking interest from fellow Premier League sides Wolves and Bournemouth.

An Adams arrival at Selhurst Park could be a replacement for frontman Jean-Philippe Mateta, who could leave the south London club before the end of the period.

Bundesliga side RB Leipzig are keen to sign Mateta, along with Italy’s Genoa, who have already had a bid for the Frenchman rejected by the club.

Both Adams and Mateta are priced in the same £15m price bracket, meaning any sale of the 26-year-old would fund a move for the Saints hit man.

Adams signed for Southampton from Birmingham in 2019, scoring 32 goals in 146 appearances for the club.

The striker also has international experience, winning 23 caps for Scotland and scoring 5 goals.

The Eagles have turned their attention to the 27-year-old Southampton man after losing patience with Arsenal over their interest in both Eddie Nketiah and Folarin Balogun.

So far this summer, Palace have signed Jefferson Lerma from Bournemouth and signed young Brazilian midfielder Matheus Franca in a £26 million deal from Flamengo.

The club are also keen on Chelsea’s Lewis Hall, but are hesitant to make a bid as they want to start negotiations with the Blues while remaining interested in Palace’s Michael Olise.

Olise has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge and Manchester City but would be happy at the club.

The loss of the young Frenchman would be an extra blow to Palace, after Wilfried Zaha already saw the club leave for Galatasaray last month.

The Eagles will begin their Premier League campaign next weekend when they travel to newly promoted Sheffield United.
