Amazing POV footage of a chef at work goes viral: video filmed at swanky London restaurant Fallow attracts millions of views

A point-of-view (POV) video showing a chef at work has generated a feast of clicks on YouTube.

Footage recorded on Derelict restaurant in St James’s, London, by co-founder Jack Croft has been viewed almost four million times.

Jack filmed the POV footage with a 4K GoPro camera during a busy Friday afternoon, where viewers could see him putting the finishing touches on dishes and guiding his team.

Some of the dishes prepared include rare breed pork with nduja cabbage; the Vomiting Milk Cow Burger; and the restaurant’s signature cod head with sriracha butter sauce.

The pace is frantic, with sauces handed out, reheated cuts of meat, and presentation adjustments made within seconds.

But Jack – who co-founded Fallow with chef William Murray and entrepreneur James Robson – never loses his cool.

And it’s something that viewers quickly noticed.

YouTube user and chef ‘MrMrutube1987’ commented, ‘When I see a kitchen with no anger and no yelling and 100 percent teamwork, I wish I was in a different kitchen. You have taken care of this kitchen down to the last detail. Really great job.’

And chef ‘randysavage5989’ wrote, ‘I have worked in many kitchens in my 15 years of experience. Eight minutes later I can tell you that this chef has a level of professionalism that many claim (to have) but few possess. He speaks with respect and authority to his people.

“He uses his own chain of command to make changes before overseeing that change.

“I’d like to work in this kitchen.”

‘Coryquimby4594’, meanwhile, said, ‘This is how you run a kitchen. No childish yelling, just constant and clear communication. I love this.’

MailOnline Travel asked Jack if his ‘normal’ chef character could be seen.

He said, ‘We’re not a screaming kitchen. It’s not the way we run the business and we don’t believe it’s an effective way to get the best out of a team.

It’s an honest insight into how the Fallow kitchen is run – we didn’t think it would make good content if it didn’t feel authentic. The team would get tense and viewers would see right through it.”

He added: “We wanted to stream real behind-the-scenes footage of a kitchen from our perspective and give viewers a real insight into how the team works during a busy lunch service.”

And were Jack and Will surprised by the number of views?

They said, ‘Absolutely! We hoped people would find it interesting, but we didn’t think it would have the reactions it did.’
