That’s uncomfortable! Kylie Minogue calls The Killers an “indie band” – despite Mr. Brightside have sold over 28 million records worldwide

Kylie Minogue made an awkward mistake last week while discussing her dream collaborations.

The 53-year-old pop princess called Mr. Brightside hitmakers The Killers an “indie band” and said she would love to collaborate with the American rockers.

Speak against E! of her upcoming residency in Las Vegas, Minogue said, “I’ve always liked more kind of indie bands, like The Killers”.

Far from indie, The Killers are one of the best-selling bands of the 21st century, with record sales of over 28 million copies worldwide.

The Grammy-nominated rockers, led by flashy lead singer Brandon Flowers, are best known for hits like Somebody Told Me and When We Were Young.

In addition to The Killers, Kylie also said she would love to work with Rihanna and Beyonce.

“Most of the collaborations I’ve done have come to me, so I haven’t had to make that decision. But no matter who I work with, I think there’s always something to learn from the people I work with,” she said.

It comes as the singer celebrates her comeback single Padam Padam reaching No. 1 on Billboard’s Dance/Mix Show Airplay Chart this week.

Kylie couldn’t contain her excitement over the performance and shared a promotional image for her new song on Instagram alongside the news, writing, “WOW.”

It’s Kylie’s first time having a top ten hit in the UK since her collaboration with Taio Cruz, Higher, reached number 8 in 2011.
