She continued, “The morning the abscess burst, I was in so much pain I cried. I was afraid to feed on the affected breasts and could not be seen by my own GP.

‘I got an appointment at the GP, who said I had to go to the emergency room. I was beside myself and in a lot of pain, but the emergency room consultant was kind and referred me to the breast clinic the next day.

“I didn’t want this to be the end of my breastfeeding journey because I wasn’t ready to stop. I was proud of what I had achieved so far.’

WHAT IS MASTITIS?

According to the Australian Breastfeeding AssociationMastitis can occur when a milk duct in the breast becomes blocked.

This leads to milk build-up and the surrounding tissue becomes inflamed, with the first signs such as flu-like symptoms, aches and sore breasts with red spots.

Treatment with antibiotics and adequate rest is recommended as soon as the disease is detected.

Ellie looked sensational in her trendy casual jumpsuit as she posed for a photo.

Among her 488,000 followers on Instagram, fans said, “Thank you for normalizing breastfeeding.”

“Great, great breastfeeding awareness. Mastitis is painful hope it gets better soon. I loved my breastfeeding sling.”

“Such a beautiful natural picture.”

“This is what I need to learn!”

She took to Instagram last month to share a sweet photo of her baby boy sleeping in a yellow blanket and confirmed his name is Ezra.

On the show, Ellie told her sister that despite being a new mom, she still showers “twice a day” and joked that her personal hygiene is “fantastic.”
