Is The Lincoln Attorney season 3 happening on netflix? At the moment we are unsure. The hit legal drama’s second season didn’t end until August 3 – at least that’s when the second part aired – but we’re confident it’ll be renewed for another run.
Why do we say that? Because The Lincoln Attorney is one of the best Netflix shows out there. We’d also like to see more from Mickey Haller and company in the future, and since there are seven novels in Michael Connelly’s book series of the same name (on which the TV series is based), there’s a lot more to talk about.
So, while we wait for news about The Lincoln Lawyer 3‘s announcement, we’ve rounded up everything we know about the show’s possible next installment. That includes the cast and plot details, speculation about a possible launch date, and more. Our information is based on how season 2 ended and what happens in Connelly’s books.

Lincoln Lawyer season 3 release date: what we know

As we mentioned earlier, The Lincoln Attorney Season 3 has not yet been announced by Netflix. However, given the popularity of the first two seasons, we’d imagine an announcement is imminent.
The Lincoln Attorney has proved to be a huge hit since it was first released in May 2022, and the show even went toe-to-toe with Stranger things season 4 part 1 at the time. The follow-up season, the first part of which will arrive in July 2023, was also a huge success. It looks like the best place on Netflix Top 10 English Language TV Charts in its second week, which followed the first half of the season, with a total of 8.3 million views and 35.3 million hours watched during its first seven-day period.
Even if Netflix renews the series for another 10-episode episode, the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes are still ongoing at the time of writing. That means it could be quite a while before the scripts are ready for filming, so there might be a bit of a wait The Lincoln Attorney‘s third season.

It’s unclear which other supporting cast members will be returning, but one person who won’t be returning in a major capacity is Gloria Days, who was played by Fiona Rene.
Gloria was found dead in the season 2 finale, presumed murdered by an unknown criminal. That said, Rene could return in all flashback sequences, so it’s possible she’ll be back when a third season is green-lit.
Another potential candidate nailed to appear is Devon Graye, who played Julian La Cosse in the season 2 finale. La Cosse has been charged with Gloria’s murder, so he’s sure to feature prominently next time around.

So, where did season 2 leave things and what can it tell us about what’s coming in The Lincoln Attorney season 3?
Last season was based on Connolly’s novel The Fifth Witness (the first season was based on The Brass Verdict), which centered on the murder of property developer Mitchell Bondurant.
Mickey becomes romantically involved with a chef named Lisa, who issued a restraining order to Bondurant when Lisa refused to move from her property he wanted to take over. When Bondurant is found dead, Lisa is charged with murder and Mickey agrees to take on her case.
Bondurant, who was six feet tall, was killed with a hammer blow from behind, the weapon being lowered onto the top of his head. Mickey and Lorna claim that Lisa could not have physically killed him, and Bondurant’s ties to the criminal underworld are presented as other potential suspects.
Lisa claimed her ex-husband Jeff took the murder weapon, but when Mickey talks to him, Jeff says he won’t testify. Instead, Mickey focuses on Bondurant’s shady contractor Alex Grant, who he assumes will claim the Fifth Amendment – his right to refuse to answer questions – on the witness stand. Alex does so, making him seem suspicious to the judges.
As we find out, Lisa is found not guilty, but Mickey later realizes she lied to him and persuaded a waiter at her restaurant to pose as her ex-husband. It turns out – spoiler alert – this is because they is guilty of killing someone: Jeff. Bottom line: Lisa is arrested for a separate murder after Lorna calls the police. Mickey, who had made amends with Lisa after her trial, dejectedly leaves.
Considering that Mickey was tricked by season one’s accused, Trevor Elliot, into thinking they weren’t guilty either, Mickey may not be quite the hot-shot lawyer he thinks he is. All of that takes a back seat, however, when Mickey calls for yet another murder on someone personal to him.
Mickey gets a call from Izzy about a new client, Julian La Cosse, and makes his way to the last one in his prison cell after being charged with murdering someone. La Cosse tells Mickey that he comes highly recommended by their mutual friend Giselle Dallinger – who allegedly killed La Cosse – and that he needs Mickey’s help to clean up after him.
Confused, Mickey goes to the morgue to check the body of the deceased. Cue is shocked all around when Mickey realizes that Giselle Dallinger is none other than a recurring character on the series: Gloria Dayton, aka Gloria Days, the sex worker and a client of Mickey’s.
Remember when Gloria moved to Hawaii earlier in the season? If you don’t, the show flashes back to the postcard Mickey received from her, which reads, “You are the only thing I miss about LA. Fare you well, Gloria”. We also see one of Mickey’s memories of Gloria where she says her mother used to live there and she would spend a lot of time with her. And there’s the start of our next murder mystery, all set up nicely for Season 3… you know, when there’s a next season.

Unsurprisingly, there’s no trailer for it The Lincoln Attorney season 3 hasn’t yet – and it’ll be a long time before one arrives. We’ll update this section as soon as one is released.
What does the future hold for The Lincoln Lawyer on Netflix?
Again, we are unsure. If a third season is announced and performs as well as its predecessors, we’d expect more entries to get the go-ahead from the world’s top streaming service.
Whether future seasons will also be split into two parts, we don’t have a definitive answer on that either. Speak against Moviefone about the decision to take a short break in Season 2 mid-season, showrunner Ted Humphreys said, “It wasn’t a decision we made. It’s something that Netflix is doing with some of their shows, especially I think some of their bigger, more successful shows They’ve done it with Stranger thingS. They did that with Ozark. They’ve done it with many shows. It was something they played with a little bit and decided ‘We’re going to try here’.
“So it wasn’t really a creative choice by the producers of the show, but at the same time it was something we were good at and we had a natural organic cliffhanger that came in the middle of the story to build to, so we didn’t have to put that in there It would already be there. It worked pretty well. It gave us a natural place to break up the season without having to do anything artificial to make it happen”. In short: save this specific question under ‘TBA’ for now.
