Brooks Koepka and wife Jena Sims’ son is in intensive care after being born six weeks premature

Brooks Koepka’s baby with wife Jena Sims is in intensive care six weeks early.

The couple announced the birth of their baby boy Crew on August 3, but Jena revealed he was born on July 27, six weeks before her due date.

In a later update, the Sports Illustrated swimsuit hopeful said the newborn went to the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).

“I don’t wish anyone leaving the hospital without your baby,” Jena said.

“It’s the hardest thing we’ve ever done. There is so much room in my heart for NICU parents and those who can’t bring their babies home.

“We’ve visited him as much as possible and we know he’s getting the absolute best care.”

She added: “He has run out of oxygen and is breathing on his own. He starts taking a bottle (in very small amounts), otherwise he feeds through his nose. He hits little milestones every day!’

Jena revealed that Crew had to be delivered by C-section to “get him here safely.”

“Cesarean section wasn’t my first choice, but it was the only way to get him here safely,” she wrote.

“It’s such a barbaric procedure, but I take it step by step every day! Finally turned a corner with the pain and my milk (sic) is cooperating (praise)!

“Not being with him constantly is an added hurdle along with so many other emotional issues.”

The couple, who met in 2015, announced they were expecting their first child in May.

Jena shared the exciting news via Instagram and wished the golfer a happy birthday.

“Happiest birthday, the best is yet to come,” she captioned a carousel of photos that showed the sports star kissing her baby bump and holding up an ultrasound photo.

She also revealed that their baby shower was scheduled for next Saturday, joking. Crew was already “showing us who’s boss.”

She said they donated the party, including the catering, to a local charity, Quantum House, which supports the families of children being treated for serious medical conditions.

Jena made the top seven of Sports Illustrated’s Swim Search finalists and has continued to walk the runway during June’s Miami Swim Week throughout her pregnancy.

The couple met on The Masters in 2015 and officially tied the knot in a stunning beachfront wedding in Turks and Caicos in June 2022, surrounded by their close friends and family.

Jena — an actress best known for her role in the Sharknado films and currently a Sports Illustrated Swim Search finalist — spoke out last month about her husband’s “supportive” attitude to her career.

“He’s so supportive of me, and I think that’s why our relationship is so successful, because I’m also supportive of his hopes and dreams,” she gushed.

“And he’s so interested in everything I’m doing, it can’t be beyond what he’s doing.”

Koepka, who plays on the Saudi Arabian-backed LIV Golf circuit, won his fifth major at the PGA Championship at Oak Hill earlier this year.

The win, which marked the first time a LIV Golf player won a major since the Rebel series began last June, was an emotional one for Koepka after his recent battle back from knee injuries.

Sims was unable to attend her husband’s win as she was in Miami for Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue promotional events.

But she made sure to anxiously watch her husband’s last lap from the bench.

She posted a video on TikTok, with Koepka still on the 18th green in the background on television, referring to her pregnancy.
