Molly McCann Told Tom Aspinall He’ll Be ‘UFC Heavyweight Champion’ In 2020…But Does NOT Believe He’ll Beat Jon Jones
UFC star Molly McCann has said she told Tom Aspinall he would be the 2020 UFC Heavyweight Champion.
While she doesn’t think he’ll fight Jon Jones, who is about to retire after November’s fight with Stipe Miocic, she believes he’ll give it his all no matter who his opponent is.
Speaking exclusively to Mail Sport, she also gave an insight into their friendship and how they’ve supported each other recently.
McCann said, “I think on Fight Island, when he won, I told him he’s going to win the title.
“I don’t think he will fight Jon – I think Jon will be ready in November. But I have a feeling he will fight Dan (Hooker) or (Tai) Tuivasa and beat them and then fight Jones and Stipe (Miocic) winner.
Molly McCann has revealed that she told Tom Aspinall he will be champion in 2020
Aspinall recently defeated Marcin Tybura at UFC Fight Night 224 at the O2 Arena in London
“But I have a feeling it’s both their New York retirement battles, so who knows where it will be?” But I sincerely believe that he will be the next world champion.’
The two were on the same card at UFC Fight Night in London in late July, where McCann suffered a defeat to Julija Stoliarenko and Aspinall defeated Marcin Tybura by TKO.
McCann talked about the words they exchanged afterwards. “He texted me and said ‘No one knows the highs and lows of this game, Mole, I love you, I hope you’re doing well”.
“I was like, ‘I hope you enjoyed all the success this week, Tom. I hope you’re having a good time with your family and friends and can’t wait to see you at the top.’
