It’s a show that’s no stranger to unexpected chatter and innuendo.
And fans of The Chase had plenty to tweet about on Thursday night when they called the final round of contestants the “worst ever.”
Viewers took to social media following the latest episode after a contestant named Richie gave a hilarious answer to an astronomy question.
And things didn’t get much better for the team as they collectively earned a paltry £4,000 to progress to the final.
Host Bradley Walsh noted that it was the first time in the show’s history that all contestants chose the lower bid, with the team missing out on their winnings after being caught by ‘The Beast’ Mark Labbett.

Richie was the last contestant to face The Chaser and was grilled by Bradley in the Cashbuilder round.
Although he managed to earn a decent amount of money, one of his answers made many viewers hysterical.
Richie was asked, “How many years will it take for the Earth to make a full orbit around the sun.”
He replied with, “365,” only for Bradley to confirm that the answer was “one.”
Fans were left in hysterics by the gaffe, with one writing, “Apparently it takes 365 years to go around the sun, that means you’re lucky to see one season.”
Another branded the contestant an “idiot.”
Richie was offered £73,000 but decided to play it safe, and like his co-stars went for the low £1,000 offer.
“That’s the first time it’s happened anywhere in the world,” Mark said. “Any team member that goes low, you guys will be YouTube sensations.”

It comes after Chaser Mark made his romance with Sky presenter Hayley Palmer public in May.
It was recently revealed that the 57-year-old was in a relationship with the TV presenter, 41, after divorcing his wife Katie in 2020.
