Lauren Boebert says she is ‘really excited’ about indicting Donald Trump ‘because it means he will win’ in 2024
Congresswoman Lauren Boebert of Colorado said she is “actually very excited” about Donald Trump’s indictment because she believes it will give him a better chance of winning in 2024.
Boebert, a passionate supporter of the former president, told Newsmax on Wednesday that accusing Trump of attempting to overturn the 2020 result was “election interference at its best.”
But she felt it only served to help Trump’s campaign and boost his supporters.
“This is election interference at its finest,” she told Rob Schmitt.
βThe DOJ is no longer the Justice Department. It’s the injustice department, and with this indictment, Joe Biden, his DOJ, has officially become his new campaign headquarters, and Jack Smith is his new campaign manager.”
Smith was appointed special counsel in November and oversees both the Mar-a-Lago case of classified documents and the 2020 election case.

“I’m actually really excited about this indictment because it just makes President Trump the 47th president of the United States,” she continued.

Boebert’s argument is borne out by the latest polls, which this week placed Trump and Joe Biden neck-and-neck, with 43 percent of support each.
Trump is by far the most popular candidate for the Republican primary, with a 37-point lead over his closest rival, Ron DeSantis.
Trump had decisive advantages in nearly every demographic and region, and in every ideological wing of the party, the New York Times/Siena College study found.
Trump’s allies are trying to dismiss the charges as political persecution.
Marjorie Taylor Greene, the Republican congresswoman for Georgia, said it was a sign that Biden was “unraveling.”
Trump said after his arraignment on Thursday he is being ‘persecuted’ for leading in the polls and being torn in the ‘dirt’ in Washington, D.C.
“If you look at what’s happening, this is a prosecution of a political opponent,” Trump told reporters at Reagan National Airport.
This should never have happened in America. This is prosecuting the person who is leading by very, very significant numbers in the Republican primary and Biden by far ahead.
βSo if you can’t beat him, you either pursue them or you pursue him. We can’t let this happen in America.β
On Tuesday, a grand jury indictment charged him with spreading “lies” and “sham investigations” while inciting an “angry” mob on Jan. 6.
He is also accused of using “illegitimate means” to try to hold on to power after his defeat by Joe Biden and spreading “lies” that led to violence during the riot.
The former president faced a federal judge Thursday afternoon who read out the four federal charges against him, which together carry a maximum prison term of 55 years.

Magistrate Judge Upadhyaya set the next hearing for August 28 β five days after the first Republican presidential debate β and warned Trump not to try to influence jurors.
Out of court, his attorney Alina Habba called the case “election interference at its best” and said any raid or indictment against the former president came just 24 hours after a Biden scandal.
On his way to arraignment, the former president aired on Truth Social that he had been arrested while the Biden family stole “millions” in alleged bribes from abroad.
The Republican frontrunner referenced the recent testimony of Hunter’s business partner Devon Archer before he appeared in court – just two days after Special Counsel Jack Smith filed the indictment.
Trump said “I’m being arrested for you” and claimed another indictment would confirm his victory in 2024 in a slew of messages as Trump Force One passed the Washington Monument before landing at Reagan National Airport.
His motorcade passed through D.C. traffic and passed under court for U.S. Marshals to take him into custody. He had fingerprints but was not handcuffed and did not have to pose for a mug shot.
The charges are conspiracy to defraud the United States, conspiracy against citizens’ rights, obstruction of an official proceeding, and conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding.
