Lionel Messi may have won the game, but Harper and Victoria Beckham served as lucky charms in Inter Miami’s latest win on Wednesday night.

The pair were on hand to support husband, father and club co-owner David Beckham as he watched his team beat local rivals Orlando City 3-1 in the Leagues Cup.

There was even a fatherly kiss for Harper, 12, as David celebrated victory – thanks in no small part to the magic of Argentina’s talisman Messi.

The World Cup winner scored an impressive brace that night, with a resurgent Inter Miami again showing its newfound dominance.

Former Spice Girl Victoria, 49, took in the spectacle at DRV PNK Stadium in Fort Lauderdale looking typically classy in a smart sleeveless top and a pair of pleated white slacks.

In keeping with Inter Miami’s home colours, 48-year-old David wore a pink shirt under his standard club suit when he took action.

Jordi Alba officially wore the pink, white and black kit for the first time when the former Barcelona left-back came on in the second half of the Herons’ Leagues Cup win against Orlando City in the round of 32.

The 34-year-old, who was introduced to the fans at the DRV PNK Stadium ahead of kick-off, came on in the 64th minute for 19-year-old defender Noah Allen with Inter Miami leading 2-1.

His first pass of the game, of course, was to none other than teammate Lionel Messi, as he also shared the pitch with Sergio Busquets – another familiar face who moved from Barcelona to Florida this summer.

Miami then added a third goal in the 72nd minute to create a two-goal deficit – eight minutes after Alba graced the pitch.

Alba and Messi played together in Barcelona for nine years before the 2022 World Cup winner left Camp Nou for PSG’s Parc des Princes two years ago on a free transfer.

“Jordi is an accomplished, dynamic and experienced player who we are eager to acquire to further strengthen our team,” sporting director Chris Henderson said in a press release after Miami announced the player’s arrival last month.

“He has proven for over a decade that he is one of the best full-backs in the sport due to both his defensive solidity and his ability to contribute in attack.”

Earlier in the evening, Beckham was left in the lurch thanks to the antics of Lionel Messi’s sons during a rain delay.

The MLS club’s Leagues Club game against Orlando City was delayed by an hour and a half due to thunder and lightning in the area.

As the rain poured down, most spectators took shelter in the stadium, but it seems that after the downpour eased, Messi’s sons went back into the stands to watch their father tear up the pitch again.

After the torrential rain, the DRV PNK Stadium was clearly soggy and the children seemed to be enjoying themselves by throwing soggy stuff on the pitch.

Messi’s eldest two sons Matteo and Thiago were spotted lining the pitch in Inter Miami jerseys with their father’s number 10 on the back.
