A Georgia mother accused of conspiring with her Bahamian lover to have her soccer star husband killed was involved in a bitter custody battle with him before the alleged plot — as her Instagram portrays their family life as picture perfect.
Former beauty pageant contestant Lindsay Shiver, 36, of Thomasville, Georgia, was arrested in the Bahamas after local police charged her with orchestrating the murder of her estranged husband and former Auburn football player Robert Shiver, 38.
She was jailed along with her alleged lover, 28-year-old Terrance Bethel, and the alleged assassin, 29-year-old Farron Newbold.
According to court records, the Shivers were involved in a bitter battle over custody of their three young children and the future of their multi-million dollar estate. seen by Fox News Digital.
But despite the conflict, the couple seemed to be living a perfect life, sharing photos on social media of the family on lavish vacations to the Bahamas and on yachts and private jets.

Part of the ongoing dispute was over ownership of the family’s $2.5 million, 8,000-square-foot home in Thomasville, where the couple lived.
In 2020, Lindsay shared a healthy photo of the family and celebrated the tenth anniversary of her marriage to the footballer.
“The key to a perfect marriage is having two imperfect people who refuse to give up on each other,” she wrote. “So grateful for that fitness class 13 years ago that brought us together and all the love, laughter and life we’ve created since then!” I love you honey.’
But earlier this year in April, their relationship soured after Robert caught his wife having an affair and filed for divorce, according to court records.
As part of the divorce, Robert sought custody of their three children and full ownership of their Georgia mansion. The divorce filing also references a private jet, which Lindsay claimed she was denied access to.
Lindsay responded to the initial filing that her extramarital affair took place during a divorce and was “legally condoned by husband,” according to records.
She also wanted full custody of the children and only us of their home.
“Woman feels unsafe in matrimonial home and has placed locks on interior doors of home for protection,” her attorney wrote, requesting a restraining order against Robert.
“The man assaulted the woman several times in the home in front of the children, not only physically, but also mentally and emotionally,” the indictment said.
Lindsay is from Alabama and graduated from Auburn University, where the two met in 2007, with a degree in marketing.

Robert is the son of Allen Shiver, who served as CEO of Flowers Foods for more than four decades before stepping down from the $5 billion company in 2019.
After playing football for Auburn and briefly for the Atlanta Falcons, Robert also pursued a career in business. He currently serves as executive vice president for Senior Life Insurance Company, according to the agency’s website.
Lindsay was scheduled to be impeached at a divorce hearing on July 18, just before her arrest, but the hearing was postponed to Oct. 31, according to court documents.
Police uncovered the plan to kill former Auburn University football player Robert, 38, on July 16 while investigating a bar break-in — and say they found WhatsApp messages on that suspect’s cell phone discuss the plot.
After their arrest, all three were flown from Guana to Nassau, the capital of the Bahamas. They appeared in court on Friday, but did not have to enter a plea.
The Shiver family owns a home in the Bahamas, where Lindsay is accused of initiating the affair with Bethel, a source close to the investigation said.
Robert then discovered his wife’s relationship with the 28-year-old and filed for divorce, they added.
She then orchestrated a plan to kill her estranged husband with Bethel and enlisted Newbold’s help, according to authorities.
“On July 16, 2023, during a get-together with a common purpose, Abaco agreed to commit a criminal offense, namely the murder of Richard Shiver,” a police report said.
Police learned of the plan after reports of a break-in at Grabber’s Bar and Grill. They came across WhatsApp messages on the suspect’s phone describing the murder plot.

Lindsay, Bethel, and Newbold were then arrested and flown to Nassau, where they were imprisoned.
The trio appeared in court on Friday before Acting Chief Magistrate Roberto Reckley. They were not required to enter a plea and are being held in jail until they return to court on October 5.
According to her Instagram account, Robert and Lindsay met in August 2007 at a fitness class at Auburn University.
The couple have three sons together and the youngest is just four years old. He proudly mentions his kids in his own Instagram profile that reads, “Daddy for the trio!”
Robert played for Auburn University between 2006 and 2008 as a long snapper. He signed with the Atlanta Falcons NFL team as a free agent after his college career, but was let go in the first roster cuts prior to the 2009 season.
