Manchester United 2-3 Borussia Dortmund: Errors in defense lead Ten Hag’s men to defeat in Las Vegas
- Manchester United took the lead through a brilliant strike from Diogo Dalot from distance
- Two quick goals from Donyell Malen before half-time turned the game around
- Antony equalized for United, but Youssoufa Moukoko won the game for Dortmund
Manchester United lost an entertaining friendly to Borussia Dortmund in Las Vegas on Sunday night – a second straight defeat in the United States.
United took the lead in the 24th minute with a superb strike from Diogo Dalot, curling into the top corner from outside the box.
Erik ten Hag’s team seemed to take the lead in the break, but Donyell Malen had other ideas.
He scored from close range to tie the score in the 43rd minute and then pounced on a mistake by Victor Lindelof to put Dortmund ahead just a minute later.
Antony equalized for United again seven minutes after the restart with a low blow, but it would be the Bundesliga team that would go through and win the game.

But two quick goals from Donyell Malen before the break turned the game around for Dortmund
It was Youssoufa Moukoko who scored the winning goal in the 71st minute, completing a slick Dortmund counter-attack after Aaron Wan-Bissaka lost possession.
“There are no excuses, we have to perform no matter what and then you have to be relentless and win games because we are Man United and the fans expect us to win,” Ten Hag said after the game.
“I think it was a good tour but you want to finish with a good performance and you see just 60 minutes where I was happy with but not the goals we conceded because they were really bad.
“The first was really bad defending and the second very bad at building up and we are not.
“We have to keep control and you have to keep the responsibility on the ball.”
They will then host French team Lyon at Old Trafford for United on Saturday, August 5, for a match against Athletic Bilbao on August 6.
Their Premier League season starts a week later with the first game on August 14 at Old Trafford against Wolves.
