Australian woman reveals the horrifying reality of travelling to Italy in peak season
Influencer and former Love Island Australia star Cassidy McGill has revealed the less glamorous side of travelling Europe.
The 28-year-old is currently in Italy, but she was shocked to see that the reality of visiting Rome was far different to picture perfect postcards.
When she showed up to the Trevi Fountain to shoot some content for Instagram, Cassidy discovered that it was packed full of tourists all clamouring for a snapshot of their own.
‘The reality of travelling during peak season,’ she said, before adding that she planned to return to the fountain ‘early in the morning’ when there were less people.
She also planned to dine at Roman restaurant Tonnarello because of the eatery’s glowing Google reviews, but was in for a rude awakening when she showed up and saw that there was a line around the block.

‘This makes me so sad!’ she shrieked as she looked at the line snaking around the building.
Cassidy eventually managed to get a few glamorous shots of herself, which she posted to social media with the caption, ‘Just another b***h in Europe’.
Despite her difficulties abroad, the influencer is still lucky to be galivanting across the globe amid Australia’s cost-of-living crisis.
Many Aussies have had to tighten their purse strings this year due to skyrocketing costs across the board.

The cost-of-living crisis has seen grocery prices go up, as well as rent and interest rates skyrocket. However, wages are not increasing in line with inflation.
Meanwhile, Cassidy recently downsized from her expensive beachside apartment after admitting she was only renting the pricey pad to ‘keep up appearances’.
The Love Island Australia star took to Instagram in May to show her more modest home in an Art Deco building in Sydney’s east.

The star, who has transformed herself into a successful influencer with 384,000 followers, appeared pleased with her decision after the move.
‘My new home is so magical,’ she wrote, sharing a photo of the entrance.
On her YouTube vlog, she explained: ‘It’s still in Vaucluse so it’s a nice close move. But it’s much more me. It’s art deco, it’s cozy, it’s homey, it has character. It feels lived in. It’s beautiful.
‘All my friends immediately say “this is me” and I’m so excited for change,’ she added of the exciting move.

Cassidy admitted in April she was living in an expensive beachside apartment in order to ‘keep up appearances’.
In a video posted to Instagram, she added that while she often gets compliments on her pad from fans, she insisted that ‘social media is a f**king lie’.
‘When I moved into this apartment, I think I felt as if I had something to prove. I was getting a lot of pressure about not having started my own business and not seeming successful,’ she said.
‘People were asking what my next steps were in my career. I had just bought my dream car so I guess I wanted to keep going,’ Cassidy continued.
‘I needed to move because my car didn’t fit in my current space and when I found this apartment I thought this might be flashy enough to appease people.’
