Channel Seven’s new biopic on John Farnham Finding The Voice has caught on with viewers.

The blockbuster hit aired Monday night and received rave reviews from fans on Twitter.

“Gosh, what a powerful and unique voice he had!” wrote one delighted person who was watching at home.

“I watch John Farnham’s show. The best singer of all time. Wonderful,’ someone else agreed.

Another wrote: ‘John Farnham. A musical legend. It is a pity that he was not able to make it to his last series of concerts. The history of his career! Astonishing!’

Since its theatrical release on May 18, the critically acclaimed film has become Australia’s highest-grossing feature-length documentary of all time and Australia’s fourth-highest-grossing feature-length documentary ever.

Critics have described the powerful documentary as “must-see,” “captivating” and “inspiring,” a story of “laughter, tears, love and rock’n’roll,” and a great tribute to Farnham’s “talent, tenacity and ability to make and keep friends.”

The 73-year-old was hospitalized in late March as he was battling a respiratory infection.

The latest health scare came seven months after Farnham underwent major surgery to remove a cancerous tumor in his mouth.

The ‘You’re The Voice’ singer has since made a full recovery from the chest infection and is now ‘at ease’ as he continues ongoing treatment.

His wife Jill and sons Rob and James thanked doctors for his care by releasing a statement.

“We are pleased to say that at the end of March John made a full recovery from a recent chest infection that required him to be hospitalized,” it said.

“He is now at ease and is still receiving treatment and rehabilitation care.

Gaynor Wheatley, the wife of Farnham’s late music manager and friend Glenn Wheatley spoke to 2GB.

“His chest infection is gone. He’s fine,’ she said.

Farnham underwent a grueling 12-hour operation in August by 26 surgeons to remove a cancerous tumor from his mouth and part of his jaw.

After his surgery, he spent more than a week in intensive care.

Farnham only discovered he had the cancerous tumor in his mouth after his wife insisted on taking him to the doctor for a check-up.
