Channel Nine addresses Scott Cam’s future in The Block after claims he ‘intends to quit’ the series
Channel Nine has filed claims that Scott Cam is preparing to leave The Block at the end of this year’s 19th season.
That’s what an insider told me Yahoo! Lifestyle over the weekend, the TV veteran and beloved host planned to leave the highly successful renovation juggernaut after 13 years at the helm.
A spokesman for Nine denied the allegations on Monday night, saying: ‘The report is not true’.
The statement comes after the 60-year-old reality TV presenter is apparently nearing the end of his contract with Nine and plans to pack up his toolbox for good later this year.
“Scotty Cam’s contract is expiring and it is believed he will not sign again after this,” an insider said. Yahoo! Lifestyle.

The source also claimed that Cam will likely be replaced by a former The Block contestant when he finally steps out.
“The audience doesn’t like change, especially when it comes to replacing the host — so it makes sense to rely on well-known contestants to make up for the absence.”
Channel Nine has been contacted for comment regarding their star’s decision to step down from the show.
The shocking claims come after this year’s season of The Block wrapped footage on Charming Street in Melbourne’s Hampton East.
After a huge year of building culminating in a controversial auction last season, the next lineup of entrants can expect an even tougher competition.
With $100,000 in prize money up for grabs, contestants will be put to the test as they are tasked with building a separate granny flat in addition to single-family homes.
In 2022, winners Omar and Oz walked away with $1,686,666.66, the biggest win ever on the show.
Cam, meanwhile, is preparing to attend the TV Week Logie Awards on Sunday after being nominated for the Bert Newton Award for Most Popular Presenter.
He competes for the gong against Hamish Blake, Julia Morris, Shaun Micallef, Sonia Kruger and Tony Armstrong.
The Block has also been nominated for Most Popular Reality TV Program and Most Outstanding Reality Program.
Cam’s work on The Block has already earned him several accolades, including the Silver Logie for Most Popular Presenter and the coveted Gold Logie for Most Popular Australian TV Personality in 2014.
