Wilfried Zaha to be offered £8 million a year contract by Galatasaray as Turkish champions step up bid to sign former Crystal Palace striker for free
- Galatasaray hopes the appeal of playing in the Champions League will give them an edge
- Forward is available on a free transfer after his Crystal Palace contract expires
- Zaha is training with his hometown club while recovering from a hamstring injury
Galatasaray insists on transfer-free Wilfried Zaha.
The Turkish champions hope to entice Zaha with a contract offer worth around £8 million a year.
Zaha is available on a free transfer after letting his Crystal Palace contract expire, although he has continued to train with the hometown club as he recovers from the hamstring injury that brought an early end to his 22/23 season.
Zaha, 30, has been the subject of interest and inquiries from clubs in Saudi Arabia, Paris Saint-Germain, Napoli, Lazio and Galatasaray’s rivals Fenerbahce.
But in the same way that Galatasaray defeated Fenerbahce to win the Turkish title last season, they are trying to lead them to Zaha’s signature.

He is still being treated for a hamstring injury that forced him out of two Crystal Palace games
Galatasaray can offer Zaha the chance to play in the Champions League after winning the Turkish Süper Lig title
By winning the title, Galatasaray secured entry to the Champions League qualifying round, a competition in which Zaha aims to test themselves and a factor that could give them an edge.
Mail Sport understands that Galatasaray is quickly trying to convince Zaha to join them.
In addition to the interest from abroad, Zaha also had an extension offer from Crystal Palace worth £200,000 a week.
But that remained unsigned, allowing him to keep his option open on his future.
