Criterion Collection Blu-rays and box sets are half off for one more week

After Prime Day, shop for non-essentials power not very high on your priority list. But the deals haven’t stopped, so neither have we. This roundup from the weekend features the best gaming and entertainment deals of the week so far, plus we’ve included last week’s top 5 best-selling products on Polygon. Speaking of movies, this is your last week to take part in Barnes & Noble’s excellent promotion which is half of many Criterion collection item, be it a DVD, 4K UHD Blu-ray or a box set. The sale ends July 28. Many of these movies are discounted Amazonat.

If you can’t find what you’re looking for, Barnes & Noble does a decent job of categorizing it, highlighting classic Hollywood movies, movies made by women, Asian movies, indie movies, LGBTQIA+ movies, and more. You can even save on pre-orders (albeit just under 50%), such as the 4K Blu-ray version of Moonage daydreamDavid Bowie’s film featuring footage and performances by the musician.

If you like baseball video games, Super Mega Baseball 4 is almost half off at Target and retails for $29.99 on all available platforms, inclusive PlayStation5, XboxAnd Nintendo switch. To say we enjoyed the game is a bit of an understatement. Our reviewer said the game’s developers manage to convey the excitement that TV often can’t. It’s a fun game series and if you can embrace the slightly cartoony visual style, you’ll probably love this one.

You can buy the Sega Genesis Mini 2 console from Amazon Japan with free shipping. It’s been a bit difficult to find this mini console in stock since it launched in late 2022, not helped by the fact that Sega opted to sell most of its inventory through Amazon Japan, forcing US buyers to import it. However, Amazon now pays the shipping costs, which are normally $22.30 on top of the current ones $94.37 price.

The Genesis Mini 2 is worth buying if you can’t get enough of Sega’s retro titles. This model includes games such as Sewer shark, Golden ax 2, OutRun, fantasy star 2and dozens of others.

Normally around $120 to import from Japan, this deal cuts out the high shipping costs.

If you have a PS4 or a PS5, be sure to check out Sony’s PlayStation summer sale, with discounts on 3,082 games and DLC. Of course, not all of them are particularly good deals. But in this post, we’ve picked a few dozen that piqued our interest. The sale ends on August 16 for most games, but some will go back to their regular prices on August 3.
