The release date for the highly anticipated second series of Welcome to Wrexham has been confirmed after the side earned a historic promotion to the English Football League in April.
The FX series – which follows Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney’s Welsh football club on their quest for promotion – will be available to stream on Disney+ in the UK from 12 September.
Hulu, which streams the show in America, tweeted the release date, adding, “Get the boys. Let’s play football.’
While no further information has been given, fans went berserk when they learned that the show will be back soon.
‘Let’s go!!!! There are so many good sports documents coming out. Even if you’re not a football fan, you need to watch this,” one person wrote.

The announcement comes after the smash hit show earned a whopping six Emmy nominations, with Ryan and Rob suggesting it’s the heart of the show that has captivated viewers.
They said in a statement: ‘The story of Wrexham has resonated with millions of people because you don’t have to be a Welsh or a football fan to be moved by this town.
“We are so thankful for today’s 6 Emmy nominations and are continually honored that the people of Wrexham are letting us tell their story.
‘Diolch! Cymru ben byth!’ what does thanks mean! Wales forever.
Deadpool star Ryan, 46, and fellow actor Rob bought Wrexham in 2021 after the team went into administration.
The club had not been in the Football League for over 15 years, but with Ryan and Rob’s investment and marketing they helped promote the club literally and figuratively.
Speak against Varietythe pair said they didn’t know what to expect when visiting the Welsh town, but decided they would put the focus of the series on Wrexham and its people.

“If you just read the headlines, you’re probably thinking, ‘Oh, this show is going to be funny,'” Reynolds said. “It’s going to be a fish-out-of-water story about two showbiz jerks who go in, fall on their asses and learn along the way.”
“But the show literally doesn’t center us. It centers the city.’
“The truth is we didn’t know anything when we went in there,” Reynolds added.
“I had a really hard time at the beginning. There’s a point in the series where I joke that I didn’t know I had the option of not being on camera all the time.”
Since the duo took over as co-chairman, the club has gone from the fifth-tier National League to League Two in the Football League.
And it now looks like they want to do the same for Formula 1, as the two stars have joined a consortium of investors – including RedBird Capital Partners, owner of AC Milan, and fellow actor Michael B. Jordan among others – to buy a 24 per cent stake in Alpine F1 Team.
