England Women’s World Cup stars warned they could get sleepless nights at their luxury four-star hotel with guests complaining of ‘throbbing headaches’ caused by problem nearby

- FA chefs chose the £270 a night Australian base for Lionesses earlier this year
- However, Sarina Wiegman’s team can have sleepless nights if she stays in the hotel
England The women’s stars could be given a rude awakening this month after being warned they could face some sleepless nights at their World Cup base.
Sarina Wiegman’s team will be staying at the Crowne Plaza Terrigal Pacific Hotel in New South Wales, Australia for the tournament, after FA chiefs explored the luxury accommodation earlier this year.
The Lionesses have the four-star resort to themselves and the hotel is completely closed off from the public throughout their stay, offering them peace of mind in an idyllic setting.
While the team can relax during the day by relaxing by the outdoor pool and walking along the beach, the hotel can turn into a nightmare when the sun goes down.
That’s because it’s directly opposite a nightclub, and the hotel has already received a number of noise complaints prior to the Lionesses’ stay.

The four-star hotel is located in New South Wales and is a stone’s throw from the beach
It has 199 rooms and also has a fitness center, conference rooms and an outdoor swimming pool

A TripAdvisor user gave the hotel a scathing review, writing, ‘If you want to sleep, don’t stay here. Paid way too much for a pounding headache and the worst night’s sleep EVER.
‘The hotel is nice enough, but the nightclub downstairs is LOUD past midnight (we were there on a Saturday night). The front desk was kind enough to move us to another room when we asked about the noise, but it was no better.’
Another disgruntled guest wrote on TripAdvisor, ‘With Sirens nightclub directly opposite the hotel, don’t expect to be able to sleep past 2am on a Friday or Saturday.
“If the sound of heavy bass doesn’t put you to sleep, ask for a room without a view of the pool right across from the club.” As this is clearly an ongoing problem I would expect earplugs to be standard in affected rooms.”
Meanwhile, a local resident said The mirror: ‘On weekends it can be quite noisy near the hotel. It’s popular with residents and visitors alike and is right on the beach, so it’s a great place to enjoy yourself.
“But I’m not sure I’d recommend it if you need a perfect night’s sleep!”
Located north of Sydney in Terrigal and offering rooms costing up to £270 per night, the hotel has billed itself as ‘the ultimate luxury beach accommodation on the Central Coast’.
Although the noise complaints are far from ideal, the hotel does have a fitness centre, conference rooms, an outdoor swimming pool and panoramic sea views.

It is also a 15-minute drive from Central Coast Stadium and just an hour from Sydney, where they will meet Denmark in the second group game on July 28.
Meanwhile, England’s two other group matches are in Adelaide and Brisbane, requiring one flight. Should they break out of the group, they will play one more match in Brisbane before the rest of their knockout matches are played in Sydney.
