New American striker Folarin Balogun claimed his success with the national team was just beginning after committing in May.
The New York-born striker, who spent last season on loan at Arsenal’s Reims, was also eligible to represent England and Nigeria, but turned down both to join the Stars and Stripes on May 16.
Since his one-off move, the 21-year-old has already helped the US to silverware in the Concacaf Nations League and vowed he won’t stop there.
“These guys know how much I love being here,” Balogun side reporter Andrew Wiebe said Tuesday night during the MLS All-Stars Skills Challenge. “Every time I’m here I’m so happy.”
“I was very happy with the last few months that we won the Nations League. And like I said, I think this is just the beginning, I can’t wait for the future.’

Balogun was competing in the MLS All-Star skill challenge when interviewed
Balogun made his debut for the U.S. team in the Nations League semi-final against Mexico before scoring in the final against Canada.
But Balogun did not represent the Stars and Stripes on his trip to the United States this time. Instead, Balogun took part in Arsenal’s Skill Challenge from the Premier League.
He also talked about the difficulty during the skill contest saying, “To be honest, the humidity is hotter than it looks man. You don’t even move much and you sweat.
“But no, it’s definitely harder than it looks, but it’s kind of fun, so everyone’s happy.”

He also predicted that Arsenal would win the league against the MLS All-Stars, although he may not wear the Gunners jersey for much longer.
Balogun has long been linked with a departure from Arsenal following his impressive season on loan at Stade Reims, which saw him score 22 goals and provide three assists in 39 appearances.
He has recently been strongly linked with a move to Serie A giants and Champions League runners-up Inter Milan for a transfer fee of between $55 and $65 million.
AC Milan, Marseille, Monaco and RB Leipzig have also shown interest in the attacker.
