Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa celebrated a milestone in his personal life post an anniversary message to his wife Annah in a rare glimpse behind the curtain.

‘Never anyone who makes my private life public. But this one deserved a post,” Tagovailoa’s Instagram caption read. Happy 1 year anniversary to my beautiful wife. I love you.’

The Alabama product keeps its social media relatively free of his family, with only a few posts from his mom and dad — and this one post from his wife — in addition to many surrounding his work on the football field.

Tagovailoa married Annah in a private ceremony last year, even criticizing reporters who discovered the details, calling it “almost disrespectful” that the news spread.

“I mean, for me, I like to keep my life as private as possible and that’s what we tried to do with me, my wife and my day-to-day,” Tagovailoa said during the Dolphins training camp in August 2022.

‘But of course that’s not the case in this world. It’s almost disrespectful to do that, but it is what it is. Can not do anything about it. I have a wife.’

Anna had its own function posted to Instagram to mark the occasion, with the caption, “Happy first birthday to my best friend and husband! I love you.’

Reports indicate that Tagovailoa and Annah (née Gore) met in high school and kept their relationship private when they both attended the University of Alabama. But she also keeps her private life private.

According to Annah’s Instagram, the couple welcomed a child on September 2, 2022.

“It’s very unique how having a child affects how you see things differently in life,” Tagovailoa told the South Florida Sun-Sentinel last year. “It’s like nothing I’ve ever experienced. There is no script for this.

‘I’ve always had a huge heart for children, but now that I have one of my own, you go home and the best thing is when you see them smiling and laughing. It’s the best in the world.’

Now Tagovailoa is starting to prepare for his fourth season in the NFL – after a season marked by serious concussions.

Tagovailoa missed multiple games due to head injuries – including one that knocked him out for the last two games of the regular season and Miami’s Wild Card round match in Buffalo.

With so many serious injuries, Tagovailoa admits he was thinking about retirement after last season.

“Yeah, I think I thought about it for a while, you know, after sitting down with my family, sitting down with my wife and having conversations like that,” Tagavaolia said in April.

“It would be hard for me to walk away from this game with how old I am and with my son. It’s my health. My body. I feel this is best for me.’

Miami picked up Tua’s fifth-year option in March as the Dolphins geared up for a Week 1 opener in Los Angeles against the Chargers on September 10.
