EXCLUSIVE Ukrainian refugee who ran off with her British lover before dumping her is not coming to court ‘after biting a police officer when she went to get her belongings from his house’

The Ukrainian refugee who was dumped by her British lover after he left behind his partner and two children for her failed to appear in court today where she was charged with assaulting a police officer.

Sofia Karkadym, 23, is due to appear before magistrates after allegedly biting the officer when he tried to arrest her.

Karkadym was at the home of her former lover, security guard Tony Garnett, in Bradford, West Yorkshire, collecting her belongings when police were called to the property.

During an altercation, she allegedly bit a male police officer and was charged with two charges.

But Karkadym failed to show up to Bradford Magistrates’ Court this afternoon and a warrant has been issued for her arrest.

Mr Garnett told MailOnline: ‘I want to deal with her as little as possible. As far as I know she arrived from Ukraine on Wednesday. She had come to collect her things from me’

Karkadym made headlines after she ran off with Mr Garnett ten days after arriving at the house he shared with his partner Lorna Garnett, 29.

She had fled the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Mr Garnett and Mrs Karkadym admitted that they were attracted to each other and left the family home and moved in with his parents before finding a place to rent.

In the early stages of their affair, the couple was blissfully happy and even talked about getting married and spending the rest of their lives together.

But the romance went cold after a series of fights he says were caused by her drinking strong beer and throwing tantrums.

Karkadym admitted that she found it difficult that he couldn’t have more children (he had a vasectomy) and that he already had two children with his ex-partner, whom he spoke fondly of on a regular basis.

The couple had a fiery relationship, with both being arrested by the police on several occasions for possible public order violations.

Karkadym flew back to Ukraine last year, only for Mr. Garrett to travel there and bring her back.

But three months ago, the couple broke up for good, and Karkadym returned to Ukraine.

She had returned to the UK to collect her belongings from Mr Garnett’s house when an argument allegedly broke out between the former couple.

At magistrates court today, Mr. Garnett was seen outside, but there was no sign of Karkadym.

Mr Garnett told MailOnline: ‘I want to deal with her as little as possible. As far as I know she arrived from Ukraine on Wednesday. She had come to collect her things from me.

‘I don’t know where she is now. I don’t have much contact with her because I’ve got a new girlfriend and moved house.’
