A Turkish court has sentenced a dismissed doctor to six years in prison after one of his patients died after a failed job.
Defendant Oner Ozsoyeri was found guilty of causing death by negligence by the 13th Criminal Court of First Instance in Buyukcekmece, Istanbul.
The court heard how the expunged GP gave victim Kubra Boyraz filler injections in her behind at his beauty clinic in Beylikduzu on September 19, 2020, despite not having the necessary certification and training to perform the procedure on the 38-year-old .
Chilling security camera footage seen during Ozsoyeri’s trial shows his victim walking zombie-like after the buttock augmentation.
As she stumbles through the clinic’s reception, two staff members hold her arms and three others walk behind her following the procedure that would soon lead to her death.

More footage from a camera outside the clinic shows Kubra being bundled into the back of a car before being driven home.
She was “difficult to talk” and “unwell,” the court heard.
Kubra passed out that same night before being rushed to hospital after her condition worsened. She passed away a day later, on September 20.
Autopsy revealed that she died after the filler injections in her buttocks blocked her blood vessels. Silicon was found in her blood as well as in her lung tissue.
Before the verdict, Ozsoyeri claimed to the court: ‘I am not the one who committed the act. Witnesses also stated that I was not present in the room.
“My medical license was revoked six months before the incident, not for professional reasons but for other reasons.
‘I was not present at the location in my capacity as a doctor. The person who died was a patient of Erdal Bey. I am innocent and request an acquittal.
‘I wasn’t even in the room. I have not performed the procedure. As a person, I tried to do everything for the individual. I sent her to the hospital, but she refused.’

At his trial, the court heard how Ozsoyeri had been reported for injuring several cosmetic surgery patients by injecting them with inappropriate substances in 2009.
Ozsoyeri was subsequently sentenced to 5 years, 8 months and 17 years in prison for ‘causing the death of a person through negligence’.
The wider case is still ongoing, with co-defendants Erdal Dogruya, Omer Elmali and Bulent B. charged with violating the Basic Law on Health Services.
The first co-defendant is also charged with causing death by willful negligence and treating patients without being a doctor.
