Monique Wright, a substitute on Sunrise, has revealed the real reason why Natalie Barr was absent from the show Monday morning.
The presenter told viewers that host Natalie was enjoying a well-deserved week off from the show, as she traveled around Western Australia.
Monique currently co-hosts the show alongside Matt Shirvington and host Edwina Bartholomew.
Natalie has also shared videos from her trip on Instagram, including a video from her first day at Cable Beach in Broome.
In the post, the presenter enjoyed a camel ride through the sand and said: “I’ve always wanted to do this. Like everyone else, I’ve seen the photos.’

‘Look – at sunset, on a camel. So peaceful and beautiful. Iconic, it’s such an Aussie thing to do! You have to do it.’
She added, “Absolutely. Nothing. Like it.’
“This is something I’ve always wanted to do. I’ve seen pictures of the camel rides at Cable Beach.’
Natalie is expected to return to Sunrise on Monday, July 24.

Meanwhile, Matt joined Sunrise last month following the departure of longtime presenter David Koch.
He racked up huge ratings during his first day on the Sunrise bank.
Sunrise continued its reign as Australia’s number one breakfast show, attracting a whopping 235,000 viewers on the subway, beating the Nine’s Today show with an audience share of 32%.
Meanwhile, Today earned 188,000 metro viewers, while ABC News Breakfast only drew 104,000.
