It was inspired by an excellent performance from Jarrod Bowen, who scored a brace and picked up an assist.

The visitors took the lead after just 70 seconds when Daniel Chesters fired a cross shot past the Perth keeper.

Gianluca Scamacca doubled the lead from the penalty spot 20 minutes later after Pablo Fornals was brought down in the penalty area after a stylish tap from Scamacca.

Although the Hammers dominated for most of the first half, there were a few brilliant flashes from Perth on the right wing, mainly through Adam Taggart.
