  • The Saudi side had earned around £35 million for the Serbian star from Cottagers
  • Mitrovic is keen to move and has asked owner Tony Khan to accept the offer

Fulham have rejected a second £35 million offer from Al Hilal for Aleksandar Mitrovic.

The 28-year-old striker still has a three-year contract, but has told Fulham that he would like to make the switch.

The Cottagers had already rejected an opening bid of £25.5 million from the Saudi club, but the striker has reportedly asked Tony Kahn to accept their new offer.

Mitrovic believes that the club is getting fair money for him and that he has contributed significantly to the club’s recent success.

The Serb played a key role in Fulham’s return to the Premier League in 2022, scoring a record 43 goals to seal their promotion to the top flight.

Last season, he continued his goal-scoring form in the Premier League, netting 14 goals as Fulham finished in the top half of the league table.

Al-Hilai has been one of the most active clubs in a transfer window dominated by the Saudi Pro League sides.

They have already signed Wolves Portugal captain Ruben Neves for £47 million, as well as Chelsea’s Kalidou Koulibaly. They are also close to capturing the signature of Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

Milinkovic-Savic, a Serbian teammate of Mitrovic, is said to be signing a deal worth £17 million a year.

Fulham are yet to sign a contract in this summer’s transfer window and appear to be missing out on a new deal for Willian, with the Brazilian poised to agree a contract with Nottingham Forest.
