Horror ute smash in Melbourne as vehicle crashes into a bus stop and paramedics rush to treat patients

An out of control car crashed into a bus stop in southeastern Melbourne, seriously injuring two pedestrians.
The horrific accident occurred at around 3pm on Friday on Frankston Dandenong Road in Carrum Downs, in the south east of the town.
Two cars were reportedly driving erratically and ‘possibly racing’ in the moments leading up to the crash, Victorian police claimed.
It appears the white car drove up the curb and rammed through the bus stop, scattering parts of the shelter across the path and lawn. Nine News footage revealed.
The vehicle then drove through a gate of a nursing home.
The pedestrian was taken to hospital with serious, but not life-threatening, injuries.
The male driver of the ute was arrested before being taken to hospital with serious injuries as well and remains under police guard.

The accident occurred on Frankston Dandenong Road in Carrum Downs (pictured) around 3pm on Friday.
Police said the driver of a second vehicle was also arrested at the scene and is assisting police with an investigation.
“It is alleged that both cars were driving erratically, possibly racing just before the collision,” a police statement said.
Drivers are being advised diversions are in place, while all outbound lanes remain closed on Wedge Rd, 7News said.
Motorists are advised to reroute their routes via Thompson Rd and the Mornington Peninsula Fwy.
