Sheffield United have signed the Tunisian midfielder Anis Slimane from the Danish Brondby for 2.2 million pounds.

Mail Sport reported on Monday that the Blades hoped to finalize the deal after he was pulled from Brondby’s training camp to continue talks.

Although born in Copenhagen, Denmark, the 22-year-old midfielder made his World Cup debut for Tunisia against Denmark and also featured in their 1-0 win over France.

He won the Danish Superliga with Brondby in 2020/21 and also played European football with the side. He is Sheffield United’s first signing this summer.

Meanwhile, Everton have made a £5 million bid for the same club’s goalkeeper Mads Hermansen.

In recent days, Denmark has become something of a goldmine for English clubs looking to strengthen their squad. Preston revealed Odense’s Mads Frøkjær-Jensen as one of their new midfielders earlier this week.
