This is the adorable moment when a young royal fan didn’t recognize Prince William and confused him with “the government.”
Following King Charles’ coronation on May 6, the Prince and Princess of Wales, both 41, took part in a walk in Windsor the following day.
While making his way through the crowd of royal fans, the father-of-three was introduced to a young boy who was buzzing with excitement to meet the future king.
a viral TikTok videowhich was filmed by the youngster’s grandmother shows the boy asking the royal family, “How long until we can see Prince William?”
Taking it upon himself, Prince William decided to tease the little boy and winked at his parents to get them to join in the prank.

William pretended to look around confused and said, ‘We don’t know where he is! Have you seen him yet?’
In response, the boy shakes his head and says ‘no’.
William continued the joke, saying, “Where do you think he is?” Do you think he went that way?’
The royal teased, “Maybe he’ll come by soon, we’ll see if he’s here.”
The Prince of Wales then asked the boy what he thought his name was.
Unaware that the king he longed to meet was before him, the younger replied, “Uh… the government?”
William couldn’t contain his laughter and said, ‘No, I’m not the government. I look like the government, don’t I?’
Looking down at his navy blue suit, he added, “They often dress like that.”

The Prince William video has garnered over 6,900 likes since it was shared on the Royal Watcher TikTok
After this the royal beauty came and said to the boy, ‘My name is also William.’
It then took a few seconds for the news to sink in. He then replied, “You’re Prince William!?”
The heartwarming clip ends with the royal hand shaking the little boy’s hand before turning around and saying, “It’s Prince William, Mommy!”
The video has garnered more than 6,900 “likes” since it was shared on the Royal Watcher TikTok account earlier this month.
One fan replied, “Too cute for words. Both are cute…beautiful!”
Another added, “I love that he winked at the mom to continue. Very cute.’
“Best future king ever,” gushed a third.
Meanwhile, a fourth said, “Like his mother … a complete natural with children.”
Later in the walkabout, a little girl was so taken aback when she met Kate that she was given a royal hug in front of cheering onlookers.
During the duo’s 40-minute walk on Windsor’s famous Long Walk, they sipped cocktails and were presented with a special coronation beer dedicated to the king.
The unannounced appearance came as Buckingham Palace said the king and queen were “deeply moved” by the nation’s celebration of their coronation.
