“Why does it think I’m a bot?” Panicked Taylor Swift fans reveal on Twitter how they struggle to buy tickets to British pop singer shows – while others manage to snag seats as they go on sale TODAY
Panicking Taylor Swift fans reveal how they are struggling to buy tickets to the singer’s shows in the UK, while others are screaming with excitement after managing to snag seats.
Presale tickets for the singer’s UK and European tour went on sale today at 11am to select fans who have pre-ordered her Midnights album.
Fans who managed to get tickets took to Twitter to show how they are “screaming” and “crying” with excitement after the “more stressful hour of my life.”
Others are slamming ticketing platforms due to technical glitches that they say cost them tickets. Some Swifties who have managed to get extra tickets even try to resell them to fellow fans.
Swifties who failed to access today’s presale may have a chance to win tickets during the general sale.
When fans tried to get tickets for the US leg of the Eras tour last year, many were heartbroken after the so-called Ticketmaster queue left them without tickets.
Taylor Swift fans can hardly contain their excitement as tickets for the pop star’s UK tour dates go on sale today at 11am
A lucky number of Swifties got access to the presale last week, allowing them to queue for tickets this morning.
Fans were allowed to purchase a maximum of four tickets per transaction and can only purchase tickets in the city for which they were issued an access code.
All tickets are sold on a first come, first served basis.
Those who successfully bought tickets this morning were celebrating after winning the Great War against Ticketmaster.
One fan wrote, “I SURVIVED THE GREAT WAR, SEEING TAYLOR SWIFT AT LONDON OPENING NIGHT!”
‘I SURVIVED THE GREAT WAR I’M SEEING TAYLOR SWIFT IN EDINBURGH NEXT YEAR I’M OVER THE MOON!!!’ added one more.
“After the #Lover tour has been cancelled, it feels so surreal that I now have tickets to see in London next year with friends who love her as much as I do,” wrote one fan who managed to get a VIP package for the to get a show.
Another tweeted, “Oh my true god…we did it.”
“I have so many husband points now,” added another who seemingly bought tickets for his wife.
But despite having access to pre-sale, several Swifties ran into the technical issues of Ticketmaster that its fans in the US knew all too well.
“Ticketmaster kicking me out as soon as I was about to pay really pissed me off about my cereal,” one wrote.
“I was first in line for Taylor Swift tickets and Ticketmaster literally kicked me out of line for no reason. There goes my chance for tickets,” added another.
Some users have already claimed to be victims of technical issues
General sales Taylor’s shows in the UK start next week. Tickets are only available from Ticketmaster and AXS and can only be purchased with an access code.
Ticketmaster has not specified a specific time when the access code emails will be sent, only that it will be in a staggered system by July 14 to ensure the site doesn’t get overwhelmed.
Fans had to register before June 22 to try and access the general sale.
Experts have warned fans not to accept ticket offers outside of the official email routes from sellers Ticketmaster and AXS.
Fans are urged to stay alert to scammers, who are a “highly attractive target for criminals” due to the “phenomenal demand” for her Eras Tour tickets.
Criminals rely on the popularity of tickets and set up their own fake versions and fake ticket sales sites to mislead consumers and make money.
Last week, Taylor, 33, announced 14 new tour dates in Europe and the UK, in addition to the concerts she already had planned in Dublin, Liverpool, London, Glasgow and Cardiff.
