Pentatonix singer Scott Hoying marries Mark Manio in romantic ceremony

Pentatonix singer Scott Hoying married his longtime love Mark Manio on Friday, July 7, at a seaside wedding in Santa Barbara, California.

The setting couldn’t have been more romantic, as the outdoor ceremony at the Ritz-Carlton Bacara took place at sunset in front of their closest family and friends, according to People.

Both decked out in custom off-white wedding tuxedos made by R. Swiader, the pair walked down a mirrored aisle, while musician Kina Grannis sang Can’t Help Falling in Love.

The grooms made their way under a baby’s breathing arch, where they exchanged handwritten vows, along with singer and friend Christina Perri, who acted as their officiant.

Hoying, 31, and Manio, 32, both took to their respective Instagrams and shared a photo of themselves holding hands right after making their nuptials official: “Mr. & mr. Scott & Mark Hoying,” they wrote in the caption.

Aiming for a “timeless, one-of-a-kind experience,” the duo recalled their time spent in Santa Barbara celebrating Manio’s birthday when planning their wedding.

“Mark and I both have a deep love for the beach and the ocean and some of our favorite, romantic, lifelong memories are at the beach together,” Hoying revealed.

Guests including Colton Haynes, Adam Rippon, Brittany Broski, Randy Jackson, Betty Who and of course Hoying’s Pentatonix groupmates Mitch Grassi, Kirstin Maldonado, Kevin Olusola and Matt Sallee were in attendance.

After looking angelic in their matching white ensembles for the ceremony, the couple later changed into another custom outfit for the reception.

Looking for something a little more relaxed and suitable for the dance floor, they ended up choosing the same color as the tuxedos for the ceremony, only redesigned as a short-sleeved shirt.

As for the menu, the happy couple and their guests had a choice of braised beef rib with parsnip mousseline and wilted rainbow chard, seared free range chicken breast with porcini mushroom risotto and vegetable lasagna.

They also added some of Manio’s favorite Filipino dishes, such as egg roll and lechon, plus bao buns, crab cakes, chicken skewers, and mango mochi.

For dessert, they served a chocolate buttermilk cake designed in the shape of wings, including a donut and a dessert wall.

While the ceremony had an all-white theme, the reception ended up being the complete opposite, with twinkling lights and chandeliers helping to illuminate all-black floors and curtains.

The tables, like the aisle, were also mirrored to ‘make the space feel like we were dancing among the stars’.

“We wanted a big, epic wedding because our families are very close and passionate and supportive of our love, which we think is so special,” Hoying explained.

“We wanted this to be an event that celebrates not just us, but our entire families on both sides – a moment we can cherish forever.”

The singer went on to confess that they were looking for a “grandiose” and unique experience, “like nothing else we’ve ever experienced, like our love for each other.”

The centerpiece of the reception, of course, was music, which began with the grooms picking out their own playlist with an emphasis on getting their guest on the dance floor.

But then Hoying surprised Manio with a performance of his new song Four, a love letter written for the model and social media star following their engagement last year.

The track, which has become his favorite from his catalog, will be released on Hoying’s upcoming EP, Parallel, due out July 28.

To mark the song that was repeated when they first fell in love, the couple enlisted Loren Allred to perform Never Enough from The Greatest Showman for their first dance.

Hoying and Manio first met in Los Angeles in 2017 at a friend’s birthday party and were instantly attracted to each other.

“We talked all night and it went really well,” the Arlington, Texas native recalls, before sharing how they soon started hanging out together every day.

“I remember being blown away by how warm, wholesome and sweet Mark was. It was such a refreshing energy that I couldn’t get enough of it.’

Fast forward to June 2023, and the couple celebrated their six-year anniversary.

“He’s really one of a kind,” Manio said of his husband. “He leads life with such a unique, exciting presence. And of course he’s the most handsome man I’ve ever seen. He lights up my life in every way.”

With the wedding party now in the rearview mirror, the couple will now spend their honeymoon in Punta Mita, Mexico.

Furthermore, there is already talk of ‘starting a big old family’.

“He just loves life, loves people, loves every part of me,” Hoying gushed. “I just know he’ll be the greatest dad in the world to our kids.”
