Oscar De La Hoya is ‘grateful’ to Travis Barker for helping raise his daughter Atiana

Oscar De La Hoya spoke highly of Travis Barker in a new interview.

The drummer, 47, who is expecting his first child with wife Kourtney Kardashian, 44, is a knockout when it comes to fatherhood, according to the boxer.

The prize-winning boxer, 50, had nothing but praise for the Blink-182 drummer for the way he helped raise Oscar’s daughter, Atiana De La Hoya, 24, who he shares with Travis’ first wife, Shanna Moakler, 48 .

So said a head of the debut of the two-part HBO documentary The Golden Boy Entertainment tonight that it was time to “give credit where credit is due.”

“Look, I didn’t raise my kids, you know? That’s what their mothers did. And I have to give credit where credit is due,” he admitted.

The former champion turned boxing promoter has six children from different relationships.

In addition to Atiana, the title holder fathered Jacob, 25, and Devon, 24, with former flames Toni Alvarado and Angelicque McQueen, respectively.

He has three children; Oscar, 17, Nina, 14, and Victoria, nine with his estranged wife actress Milagros ‘Millie’ Corretjer.

“I’m thankful that Barker was there, you know, like a father figure to my daughter. I should be thankful that Shanna was a mother to Atiana, and that I really just know my place, you know?’

“My place — I’m obviously a dad and I’m proud of it. But again, I’m thankful for what they’ve done. Especially with Barker. He’s clearly stepped up to the plate.”

On Father’s Day, Travis sent a message to his children, Alabama, 17, Landon, 19, and Atiana, writing, “My children, I am so blessed to learn from you and be loved by you. Being your father is the most beautiful thing in the world.’

“I love you Alabama, Landon and Atiana. And thank you god for my future blessing.’

Travis and Kourtney have revealed they are expecting a boy.

Atiana responded to the sweet post with “Crazzzyyy photo picks love you forever.”

The rocker is also stepfather to Kourtney’s older children, Mason, 13, Penelope, 11, and Reign, seven, who she shares with ex-partner Scott Disick, 40.

Oscar blamed his troubled childhood growing up with an abusive mother and emotionally closed off father due to his lack of parenting skills.

He says therapy has helped him change his way of life.

‘Therapy. Rehab clinics. Drinking and crying a lot. Everything we do. So now that I’ve finally done that and freed myself, it’s a relief. I can finally live my life in peace.’
