Rumors are mounting that Dominic Perrottet could soon leave parliament for the boardroom of his beloved NRL club.
The former NSW premier stepped down as Liberal leader following the party’s defeat in the state election in March and is currently a member of Epping.
Rumors are circulating that the self-proclaimed tragic Wests Tigers could leave politics before Christmas and could even be tempted for a director or chairman role at the struggling club if the opportunity arises.
The Tigers are currently at the bottom of the NRL ladder and have not played finals football since 2011.

Reportedly, the ex-premier would be interested in a role at the club if approached as he ponders his future after politics.
In April, the club’s director Simon Cook resigned saying the club needed a transformation with John Dorahy taking over
“I believe Wests Tigers need change and regeneration,” said Cook.
“It’s time for Wests Tigers to look for new people with the right skills to give the club the success our loyal fans deserve.”
The Daily telegram sports editor Phil Rothfield has reported that the ex-premier would be interested in a role with the Tigers if approached.
“I’m told that if approached, Perrottet would be happy to join once he steps out of politics, most likely by Christmas,” he wrote.
Last month, sources reported that Mr Perrottet is likely to retire from politics by Christmas as he feels it is time for a career change.
The father of seven children first hinted at leaving politics five weeks after the March 25 elections. the Australian financial statement: ‘You don’t do politics forever’.
“I’ve always seen my time in politics as something I wanted to do for a short period of time and make a difference,” he told the publication in February.
“And then go make a difference somewhere else.”

Taking on a role would see Perrottet following in the footsteps of another former Liberal Prime Minister, Barry O’Farrell – who was the Tigers chairman in 2019. He only lasted six months in the role.
Perrottet entered politics in 2010 when he made the Liberal pre-selection for the safe Liberal seat of Castle Hill and has remained in the political sphere ever since.
Previously he was state treasurer and deputy leader of the NSW Liberal Party for nearly five years from January 2017.
Perrottet subsequently won a leadership vote to become Prime Minister Fafter the shock dismissal of Gladys Berejiklian in October 2021.
He resigned as NSW party leader in March after Labor took power for the first time in 12 years.
