Sandro Tonali has finally arrived in Newcastle after joining from AC Milan – with wife Juliette Pastore already in the club’s famous black and white.

Tonali, 23, completed his £52 million move from Milan earlier this week and has penned a five-year contract at St James’ Park.

And two days after his transfer was finally confirmed after much speculation, the Italian midfielder has landed Tyneside as he prepares to join Eddie Howe’s side.

On Wednesday night, Newcastle shared footage on social media of Tonali’s private jet landing in the city before stepping off the plane with his gorgeous partner.

Pastore, the Instagram model and fashion designer who has had an on-again, off-again relationship with Tonali for the past four years, even donned a black and white jersey to match the colors of their new team upon arrival in England.

Tonali, who spent three years at Milan after initially leaving Brescia on loan in 2020, made 130 appearances for the Italian giants and was part of their Serie A title-winning side in 2021/22. He has also been capped 14 times by Italy.

After becoming Newcastle’s second signing of the summer this week, he said: “First of all I want to thank Newcastle United for giving me a huge career opportunity.”

“I want to repay the confidence on the pitch and give it my all, as I have always done. I’m very excited about playing in St. James’ Park, can’t wait to feel the warmth of the fans.’

Newcastle are gearing up for Champions League football next season after an incredible 2022-23 campaign that saw them secure an unlikely fourth-place finish in the Premier League.

And ahead of their entry into Europe’s elite club competition, Howe is confident Tonali’s experience will be a huge boost.

He said: ‘I am delighted to welcome Sandro to Newcastle United. He is an exceptional talent and has the mentality, physicality and technicality to suit us well.

At the age of 23, Sandro already has significant experience as a key player in one of Europe’s top leagues and in the Champions League, as well as playing for his country.

“But he also has the opportunity and potential to grow and evolve with us, and I’m excited to add him to our squad as we approach the exciting season.”

Tonali has been closely watched by Newcastle scouts in recent months, including in the Champions League semi-final against rivals Inter, which ended in defeat.

He is seen as a player who can anchor Newcastle’s midfield, freeing up Bruno Guimaraes to play further forward.

So far, Newcastle only signs this summer game in the form of 18-year-old Gambia striker Yankuba Minteh from Danish OB.
